Of course, in modern games, development often goes on well beyond launch thanks to DLC, patches, and so on, but this is nevertheless a big milestone. It means work can now begin on producing the millions of discs to be sent to retailers and that we’re now within touching distance of the game’s release date of November 8.
With just weeks to go until launch, Sony has revealed a new limited edition Death Stranding-themed PS4 Pro console, for which pre-orders are available now. For more on the mysterious game, check out our explainer on Death Stranding’s plot, characters, gameplay, and more.

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios and one of the driving forces behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will produce a new Star Wars movie for Disney. That’s according to The Hollywood Reporter, which states that move is part of new plans for “a wave of projects set in the [Star Wars] universe.”
The site states that Feige discussed the Star Wars project in late summer, having met with Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy and studio co-chairmen Alan Horn and Alan Bergman. Asked for a statement, Horn said, “We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on, not only in terms of Star Wars but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox.
“With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together.”

Red Dead Redemption 2 Online is gearing up for some new content on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Rockstar Games has revealed what arrives this week, including a new legendary bounty, Elimination series, outfits, and more.
The Wolf Man is RDR2 Online’s new legendary bounty. An estranged and violent hermit, The Wolf Man has retreated to the snowy foothills near Lake Isabella. Be wary when tracking him, as the area is home to predators like bears and wolves. The Wolf Man is wanted dead or alive on regular difficulties to receive the fur-lined Red Strayhorn Boots in an exclusive red color. Increasing the difficulty to four- or five-stars requires that he is brought in alive to receive the reward.
RDR2 Online adds a new valuable Weekly Collectible List consisting of Cognac, the Beaulieux Diamond Ring, and Beauchêne Ruby Earrings. These items must either be turned into Madam Nazar or sent off from a Post Office by September 30. Further, this week’s Elimination series is Free Aim, a match type said to challenge and reward the best shooter in the West. You can check the Online menu to see what the latest Free Aim series is each week.
Finally, RDR2 Online is increasing the customization options with new accessories and clothing. The Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalogue will be offering new additions this week, including a variety of hats, shirts, outer clothing like ponchos and vests, and boots. The Inglett Scarf and a newly-designed Bandana are amongst the new accessories available this week.
The NPD Group released a list of the top 10 best-selling PS4 games and exclusives in the US this week, with Red Dead Redemption 2 taking the number two spot on the best-selling PS4 games list. RDR2 Online added another legendary bounty, the Del Lobos gang leader Barbarella Alcazar, for Licensed Bounty Hunters to collect last week.

During today’s Oculus Connect 6 presentation, developer ILMxLAB has announced that Vader Immortal: Episode II is out right now. In a press release, publisher Oculus Studios confirmed that the game is available on both Oculus Quest and Rift for $10 USD, with cross-buy between the two platforms enabled.
Episode II continues where Vader Immortal: Episode I left off, with you back in control Darth Vader’s new recruit. In this episode, Vader will teach you the Force as you embark on a quest to uncover the secrets of Mustafar and “battle thrilling new Star Wars creatures.” Episode II also features Lightsaber Dojo II, a standalone training mode where you can improve your proficiency with both the Force and your trusty lightsaber.
Senior producer Alyssa Finley spoke a bit about Vader Immortal during the presentation. “At its core, Vader Immortal allows audiences to explore one central question: what would it be like for you to be a hero in a Star Wars adventure, and learn firsthand about Darth Vader’s mysterious plans?” she said. “We can’t wait for audiences to continue their journey with Episode II.”
Vader Immortal is a three-part canonical Star Wars story, sitting between the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It’s written by David S. Goyer, who wrote The Dark Knight trilogy and is also currently working on the Secrets of the Empire VR experience.

Apple rolled out its Apple Arcade subscription service recently, with impressive results. But the service was only available on iPhone devices upon launch, with larger screens like the iPad and Apple TV to come later. That day has come, as iPad OS and TV OS 13 are both now live.
Among a host of other features for each platform, the updates enable Apple Arcade. And since Apple Arcade is a service tied to your Apple account, if you subscribed to it on iPhone you can just jump in and download games for iPad and Apple TV now as well. That will be a boon to games that seemed promising but a little cramped on the iPhone screen like Overland or Shinsekai: Into the Depths.
The updates include another feature helpful for gamers: controller support. You can use your DualShock 4 or Xbox One bluetooth controllers across all of Apple’s devices running the latest firmware. That feature was enabled for the iOS 13 update for iPhone that came alongside Apple Arcade as well, but it’s probably a little easier to play with a full-sized controller on a bigger screen.
Apple Arcade is a $5 per month service for access to roughly 100 games, including some mobile exclusives. If you need some recommendations on where to start, check out some of our favorite games so far. If you’re an Android user, Google recently launched a competing service called the Google Play Pass that boasts 350 games and apps for a similar price.
