E3 2019 EA Play — First Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Gameplay Revealed

EA Play is in full swing and the company has opened its annual E3 2019 press conference with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. After teasing it for months, EA has finally showcased gameplay for the upcoming Star Wars game. We got a whole new 13-plus minutes that you can watch above.

The Jedi Fallen Order portion of the broadcast is now over, but it revealed a lot about how the game will play (and more is coming on Sunday during the Xbox press conference). Respawn revealed what that “thoughtful combat” is all about and the appearance of a familiar face from Rogue One and Clone Wars. Additionally, we got a look at what Force abilities are at your disposal.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is being developed by Respawn, the developer behind the popular Titanfall franchise and its spin-off battle royale game, Apex Legends. Fallen Order is entirely single-player, with no microtransactions whatsoever–making it the opposite of EA’s controversial Star Wars Battlefront II. Respawn has another Titanfall project in the works but has delayed it to focus on Fallen Order and further fleshing out Apex Legends.

Fallen Order focuses on the adventure of Cal Kestis, a Jedi Padawan that escaped Order 66 and now lives as a fugitive in hiding from the Galactic Empire. His life as a salvager comes to an end when he uses the Force to save his friend, revealing his identity to those who want him dead. Now on the run, Cal has to rely on his minimal training to escape from the masked Second Sister–one of Darth Vader’s Jedi-hunting Inquisitors–and Purge Troopers. He won’t be completely alone though, as Cal’s journey across the galaxy sees him discovering a surviving Jedi Knight.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 15.
