Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition Delayed

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition has been delayed until Summer 2020. The remaster of the 2003 GameCube game was originally revealed in September 2018 and was scheduled to release in 2019. Earlier this year, however, Square announced that it would launch on January 23, 2020, but it has now been pushed back further.

“Today we’re announcing that the release date for the game is being moved to Summer 2020,” the official Final Fantasy Twitter account tweeted. “We’ve made the decision to adjust the release date to allow the development team some extra time to make final adjustments to the game to make this the best experience possible. We know you’ve been waiting patiently for this game, and we hope you’ll continue to support us as you have done so far, over the coming months through to launch.”

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition is coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices, with cross-play and cross-saves supported across all four platforms. The delay does put more distance between Crystal Chronicles and the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake, which is set to launch on PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.
