Fortnite‘s third set of Chapter 2 challenges is now live on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile. This week’s batch is called Forged in Slurp, and if you can complete at least eight of the challenges, you’ll unlock a special loading screen that contains a clue leading to another letter hidden somewhere around the map.
This time, you’ll need to search for the hidden R in the Forged in Slurp loading screen. These hidden letters aren’t always easy to find, though, so if you need help tracking it down, we’ve put together this guide showing you exactly where to go.
As the challenge states, the clue to the R’s whereabouts is hidden in the Forged in Slurp loading screen, which features Rippley standing before the Slurp Factory in Slurpy Swamp. The letter appears in the background beneath one of the factory’s platforms, so that’s where you’ll need to go to find it. The platform in question is on the northeastern side of the factory; we’ve marked its location on the map below.
Once you know where the letter is hidden, make your way to the factory in Slurpy Swamp and head toward the aforementioned platform–the letter will appear as you approach. Interact with it when prompted and you’ll complete the challenge.
Note that the letter won’t appear on the map until you’ve unlocked this challenge, so you’ll need to work your way through the other Forged In Slurp missions before you can collect it. Most are fairly straightforward, but one that’ll require a bit of searching asks you to dance at Compact Cars, Lockie’s Lighthouse, and Weather Station. If you need help finding those areas, we’ve put together a dance locations guide showing you where to go.
This is the third hidden letter of the season so far, and there will be a new one to find each week until you spell out “FORTNITE.” If you need help tracking down the previous letters, be sure to check out our full Fortnite Chapter 2 challenges roundup for all our maps and guides.

At long last, Sony recently set a release date for The Last of Us Part 2, and there was much rejoicing throughout the land. That date will not stick, however, as the anticipated follow-up from Naughty Dog has been pushed until Spring 2020.
In a letter to fans from game director Neil Druckmann, a new release date of May 29, 2020 was confirmed for The Last of Us Part 2. The news is unexpected–after all, the long-awaited release date announcement came less than a month ago and pegged the game as coming to PS4 on February 21, 2020.
Druckmann acknowledged this, writing, “I know. It was just about a month ago when we had our big blowout for the game, letting media play over two hours of it along with debuting our new story trailer and revealing the release date. The positive response we saw from our community was overwhelming. You can feel the energy among the team members. After working on something for so many years, it’s invigorating to get a glimpse of validation for all the hard work.
The Last of Us Part II has a new release date. Here’s a letter to our fans.
Apologies for the delay. Please know we’re working very hard to make it worthwhile. https://t.co/iJyhXpuUoa— Neil Druckmann (@Neil_Druckmann) October 24, 2019
“However, it was during the last few weeks, as we were closing out sections of the game, that we realized we simply didn’t have enough time to bring the entire game up to a level of polish we would call Naughty Dog quality. At this point we were faced with two options: compromise parts of the game or get more time. We went with the latter, and this new release date allows us to finish everything to our level of satisfaction while also reducing stress on the team.
“While we’re relieved that we won’t have to compromise our vision, we’re disappointed that we weren’t able to avoid this exact situation. We wish we could’ve foreseen the amount of polish we needed, but the size and scope of this game got the better of us. We hate disappointing our fans and for that we’re sorry.
“We hope you understand that this additional time ensures that The Last of Us Part II lives up to our collective ambition as well as our commitment to the highest level of quality. We know the extra few months will add to what may already be an excruciating wait for all of us. We are grateful for your patience and continued support. Come next May, you will finally rejoin Ellie in The Last of Us Part II.”
The release date and Outbreak Day festivities were accompanied by loads of new details, including some from our own hands-on time. Among them was the revelation that TLOU 2 will no longer have multiplayer, though Naughty Dog says a separate online experience is in the works.

Three of Ubisoft’s biggest upcoming games have been delayed. Release dates for Watch Dogs Legion, Rainbow Six Quarantine, and Gods & Monsters are all now scheduled for the company’s 2020-21 fiscal year. That means the soonest we can expect to see any of them is April 2020.
Previously, Watch Dogs Legion was set for March 6, and Gods and Monsters was scheduled for February 25. Rainbow Six Quarantine was set for this fiscal year, which ends on March 31.
In a statement, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot explained that its recent AAA releases have been met with disappointing reception, in particular Ghost Recon Breakpoint. He says this is partly due to live games coming too close together, and not having enough differentiation. He also, more generally, said that new features aren’t being given the time to be perfectly optimized. It’s in this context that he says delays on these next three projects are necessary.
“We are tackling these issues head-on and already are implementing significant changes to our production processes,” Guillemot said. “We are confident in our capacity to adapt and evolve, as we have done successfully many times in the past. In this overall context, we have decided to postpone the releases of Gods & Monsters, Rainbow Six Quarantine and Watch Dogs Legion until 2020-21. While each of these games already has a strong identity and high potential, we want our teams to have more development time to ensure that their respective innovations are perfectly implemented so as to deliver optimal experiences for players.”
The new fiscal year targets mean the games will release by March 31, 2021.

Gearbox is set to release a new patch for Borderlands 3 today, October 24. The update addresses bug fixes, stability improvements, and general adjustments, but the studio has also outlined its roadmap for the coming weeks in terms of what we can expect from future hotfixes and patches for the looter shooter.
Gearbox says game performance and stability continues to be its top priority. An upcoming November patch promises to introduce various improvements games-wide, with the studio saying, “performance and stability will continue to be an ongoing effort with more fixes rolled out with each upcoming patch.”
One of the most requested features by the community is an expansion to Borderlands 3’s bank. As a result, Gearbox has begun laying the groundwork for expanding the bank. The upcoming release of Takedown at Maliwan’s Blacksite will introduce a significant expansion to the bank that will more than double the existing space for storing your items.
Bosses will also be getting dedicated loot pools to ensure that more specific gear drops from defeated bosses. Once this happens as an expected part of the November update, you’ll be able to go to a specific boss and get the specific gear you’re looking for, saving a lot of time and hassle.
Gearbox says it will be introducing some character buffs as well, since Moze’s Iron Bear, FL4K’s pets, and Zane’s Digi-Clone/SNTL aren’t performing as well as expected when Mayhem Mode is activated in the late stages of the game. The developer is looking at ways to adjust damage according to the relevant skills and gear, to make sure Borderlands 3 has as many viable character builds as possible.
Speaking of Mayhem Mode, Gearbox is also planning a significant revamp that will introduce a host of improvements to the way it works. The first update will, once again, be released as part of Takedown at Maliwan’s Blacksite, and will include the first new Mayhem Mode level, Mayhem 4. The new level promises to offer a significant challenge, with tougher enemies and better rewards that revolve around new Legendary gear. Beyond this, Gearbox will eventually overhaul Mayhem Mode with Mayhem 2.0, adding more UI support, playlists, additional levels, new rewards, and new Mayhem Modifiers that will dramatically change the gameplay.
Lastly, there will be new vending machines cropping up throughout Borderlands 3’s planet-hopping adventure. Gearbox is also hard at work trying to find a solution that will let you skip cutscenes, and it’s introducing a target dummy so you can easily test your gear on Sanctuary.
As for today’s patch, the latest update fixes numerous bugs afflicting Borderlands 3 by addressing various crashes, removing a reported bug in the Space-Laser Tag mission that prevented some players from progressing to the next objective, and altering the Flakker weapon so it now consumes one ammo instead of five, among a host of other changes detailed in the full patch notes.
There’s also a free Bloody Harvest Halloween event kicking off today, introducing spooky new cosmetics like skins and weapon elements, the new Bloody Harvest boss, and a new Legendary weapon. GameSpot has all of the details on how you can access the Halloween-themed event and when it comes to an end.

Chapter 2 of Fortnite has begun its third week of Battle Pass challenges. The newest mission set is titled Forged in Slurp and centres around Rippley, the adorable Slurp creature introduced at the beginning of the season. One of the latest challenges tasks you to dance at Compact Cars, Lockie’s Lighthouse, and Weather Station. If you’re not sure where these landmarks are found on the brand new map, we break down how to easily complete the challenge below.
The three locations you need to dance in are spread out across the map with one in the north, south, and near the centre. They’re not too hard to find, though, especially if you know where to look.
Compact Cars is found near the centre of the map. It’s a small scrapyard that’s located on the east side of the river between Frenzy Farm and Dirty Docks. You’ll find it on Fortnite’s map grid in the G4 square.
Lockie’s Lighthouse is difficult to miss when you’re in the northwest of the map. The tall red and white lighthouse is located on an island at the very top of the map near Pleasant Park. Fortnite’s map grid places it in the C1 square.
Lastly, the Weather Station lives at the top of the snowy mountains in the southeast. The building and its accompanying satellites are located to the east of Misty Meadows and south of Retail Row, at the southwest end of the frosty peaks. You’ll find it in the G7 square of Fortnite’s map grid.
This one is fairly easy to complete; all you need to do is head to each of the three locations and activate one of your dance emotes. You can do this in separate games or attempt to nail them all in one, but this is easier said than done considering how spread out they are. Completing this challenge will net you 14,000 season XP and unlock another Forged in Slurp challenge.
Chapter 2, Season 1 runs until December 12, according to the official Fortnite website. You can see the full list of Chapter 2 challenges here, along with our guides on how to complete the trickiest ones. For more, be sure to check out our other Fortnite Chapter 2 coverage below.

Since ID@Xbox launched in 2014, Microsoft has become a hub for indie games, with developers able to register and self-publish their titles across both Windows PC and Xbox One. Promoting indie developers has been a core value at Xbox for a number of years now, most notably during the company’s annual E3 presentations where they’re often given the spotlight to shine.
Kotaku Australia recently spoke with ID@Xbox Director Chris Charla about the program and the importance of indie games development. One of the questions raised addresses concerns over the tangible benefits for developers joining the program in regards to finances and support from Xbox. Charla reveals that Microsoft has paid “more than $1.2 billion to independent developers this generation for games that have come through the ID program.”
That number is sure to be significantly higher during the next generation of consoles–which will include Microsoft’s Project Scarlett–as indie games become bigger and more ambitious than ever. “We’ve also seen some independent studios who are now approaching the 30 person level and doing bigger games,” Charla explains. “They’re exploring more multiplayer games, and areas that traditional games have done. That’s what’s so exciting about the independent games scene–it’s not just, ‘oh, now everyone’s making Goose Game’, there’s a lot of things simultaneously, and it’s really, really exciting.”
With the ID@Xbox program, Microsoft is prepared for the future of indie games in a way it wasn’t when the Xbox One first launched. “When we first started, it was… two or three people in a three-metre by three-metre space,” Charla reminisces. “We were packed in and just getting things going. We knew exactly where we wanted to get to, which was to have devs have it as easy as possible to have their games shipped on Xbox One. We had an enormous amount of work to do at the beginning. In the ensuing five, six years–I think we’ve done that.”

In rebooting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, developer Infinity Ward has changed a lot of about the franchise’s formula. The game adds new equipment to your loadout, offers new abilities like reloading while aiming down sights, and allows for new strategies thanks to its different take on map design. It also makes some changes to how its weapons work in multiplayer, allowing you to add attachments to your guns that change how they handle.
Like past Call of Duty games, Modern Warfare includes a slate of “perks” you can add to your loadout that give you different abilities. Some will fill up your killstreaks a little faster, while others will make you tougher for enemy technology to spot you. But perks work a little differently in Modern Warfare. They’re not just specific to your character loadout, they can also be added to your weapons, as well. Here’s what you need to know about how perks work in Modern Warfare, and how to make the most of them.
Your main group of perks come as part of your character loadout. As in past games, you get three of them, each with a different thematic drive. Some affect how fast you move or how quickly you can ready your weapons; others change how enemies can see you or how you’re affected by their equipment. Combining the perks for different situations can help you make the game fit your playstyle and give you an edge against an opponent under the right circumstances.
Modern Warfare also lets you edit your loadouts mid-match, so you can make adjustments to your perk choices as the situation dictates. If your enemy is using a lot of UAVs, you can switch to a perk that makes you invisible to enemy radar, for example. In general, you don’t want to just pick a set of perks and forget about them–try to adjust your perks to give yourself advantages and abilities to deal with whatever you’re dealing with in a given match.
Modern Warfare uses a similar system to past Call of Duty games, in that you don’t just level up your overall character to unlock new guns, equipment, and perks as you play, you also rank up your individual guns as you use them. Experience earned with a particular weapon unlocks new attachments for that gun, which can change the way it handles–a scope increases a weapon’s range while making it heavier and therefore slower to wield, while a different stock might speed up how quickly you can move around while aiming.
Guns also have perks of their own you can unlock, independent from your loadout perks, and specific to each weapon. Unlike attachments, each of which has pros and cons when you add it to a weapon, perks are slight boosts to your weapon that can give you a particular edge. For instance, one perk gives your gun more bullet penetration, allowing you to do more damage to players you shoot through cover. Perks don’t drastically change a weapon’s capabilities or damage, but like attachments, they can change how a gun works to make it better fit your playstyle. You can add one perk to a gun, so you’ll have to choose wisely–and adding a perk counts as an attachment, which means you’ll have one less slot for things like magazines, barrel attachments, and sights.
Spend some time considering which perks work best with your playstyle on a particular weapon. As with loadout perks, you can change your gun attachments in your loadout at any time during a match, and that goes for your gun’s perk, too. Adjusting to the situation is key to victory in Modern Warfare, and with perks on both your character and your weapons, you have a lot of customization options that, if used well, can help you excel over the opposition.

It’s been 10 years since Left 4 Dead 2 was released, and no, your eyes are not deceiving you. Ten! Feel old yet? Despite it being a decade since Ellis, Coach, Nick, and Rochelle carved a path through the zombie hordes–and Valve’s aversion to the number three–Dying Light developer Techland is still carrying the Left 4 Dead torch with an upcoming crossover event.
Dying Light is almost five years old itself, but Techland continues to support the first-person parkour-infused zombie slayer, even with Dying Light 2 on the horizon. After a recent Deadeye’s Promise event, the Polish developer hinted at a Left 4 Dead crossover in a tweet, saying “We don’t want you to be left 4 dead waiting for results!” This, of course, got people talking, and the crossover has now been confirmed.
Survivors!
Are you ready for some serious zombie slaying? #left4dead2 style is coming! pic.twitter.com/Lv4XXyf8Jn— Dying Light (@DyingLightGame) October 23, 2019
Techland hasn’t shared any more details beyond this tweet so we’re only left with speculation as to what this zombie crossover might entail. It’s probably safe to assume it will include cosmetics like Left 4 Dead 2 character skins and voice packs as opposed to something more substantial like a new game mode or enemies like The Boomer and The Witch appearing in Dying Light.
Nevertheless, it’s cool that Valve is still acknowledging Left 4 Dead’s existence, even if we’re still waiting on another sequel. Who knows, maybe Valve has something else up its sleeve for the game’s 10-year anniversary in November?
Dying Light 2 is due in Spring 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
