AP Twitch Support? XD Ok Rito Let’s Do It | Weird Pick #141 | Runes Items Build Guide

Guide to Playing AP Twitch Support

In the wild world of preseason zany builds surface, one of which is strangely popular and somewhat forced on us…AP Twitch. It plays like an upgraded Teemo in the early game and transitions to a heavy source of AP and true damage late game.

Guide to Playing AP Twitch Support

In the wild world of preseason zany builds surface, one of which is strangely popular and somewhat forced on us…AP Twitch. It plays like an upgraded Teemo in the early game and transitions to a heavy source of AP and true damage late game.

Wanna find out how to gank oriented fun build? Check out the details on runes and builds below!

How to Play AP Twitch Support
Abilities: E, Q, W then prioritize R > E > Q > W

Summoner Spells

Starting Items: Spellthief’s Edge, Health Potion

Strategy: Playstyle should be roam heavy and play similar to a jungle Twitch but with more focus on bot lane. His actual fighting is largely the same as any other Twitch and relies on on-hit damage.

Core Items: Frostfang, Berserker Greaves, Nashor’s Tooth, Riftmaker, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Demonic Embrace

AP Twitch Support Runes Setup

Primary: Hail of Blades, Sudden Impact, Eyeball Collection, Ravenous Hunter
Secondary: Coup De Grace, Legend:Alacrity

How It Works

Massive AP Buffs in 10.23
 P – Deadly Venom
DAMAGE RATIO 3% AP damage per second, per stack (max 108% AP for 6 stacks over 6 seconds)

 W – Venom Cask

SLOW RATIO 6% AP

 E – Contaminate

AP SCALING DAMAGE 33.3% AP physical damage per Deadly Poison stack (max 200% AP for 6 stacks)  33.3% AP magic damage per Deadly Poison stack (max 200% AP for 6 stacks)
All in all, these three buffs cumulatively result in a massive amount of damage, increased utility, and much higher burst damage than before.

Powerhouse Bot Lane Champions
Right now, the three champions Jhin, Samira, and Ashe are incredibly strong bot lane and are capable of soloing bot lane safely for periods of time. While Twitch shouldn’t roam too often early on, he can play similar to Bard and gank his own lane a few times and truly roam other times.
Roam Power Not Jungle Reliant
Overall, Twitch as support allows him to focus on ganking rather than farming, giving him the ability to snowball lanes. Since jungle was buffed, Twitch has found a new home as a pure ganker. River Twitch?

Potential Pitfalls

Low Traditional Support Abilities
Other than his slow, Twitch has no crowd-control. He also has no team buffs and truly relies only on his damage in order to “support” his team. Instead, his support comes in the form of ganks traditionally the job of the jungler.
Roaming Art
Roaming is more of an art than a science. However, Twitch will need to continuously do it to be effective. Not only does Twitch need to pick good times to roam, but his bot lane partner also needs to know how to play depending on Twitch’s position on the map. If his marksman is playing someone with low lane power then he may end up leaving his partner unable to perform the rest of the game.

Countering AP Twitch Support

Hard CC and good warding will counter AP Twitch support very hard and prevent him from snowballing effectively.

Conclusions

AP Twitch Support is fun, but really plays as some sort of combination of Bard/Teemo. His playstyle is really that of Jungle Twitch, but the latest Patch 10.23 buffs have made the AP on-hit build his highest damage build.
In competitive play it’s not that strong, but definitely very strong to be playing for the off season.
Suggested Tier: Low Tier 2

On-Hit Twisted Fate PENTAKILL GOD| Weird Pick #140 | Runes Items Build Guide

Guide to Playing On-Hit Twisted Fate

As the rule goes, if a weird build does well it must be showcased and today we have NA Summoner apdooooo doing his hero proud with a new and improved version of on-hit Twisted Fate for Patch 10.23, taking advantage of all the fun preseason changes. Check out this gnarly pentakill!

Wanna get a Pentakill too? Check out the details on runes and builds below!

How to Play On-Hit Twisted Fate
Abilities: W, E, E then prioritize R > E > W > Q

Summoner Spells

Starting Items: Cull + Potions

Strategy: Auto-attack [a lot], don’t worry too much about orb walking, at max items it’s better to just stand still and focus on picking the right cards. Avoid using your [Q] as it’s generally a DPS loss.

Core Items: Berserker’s Greaves, Wit’s End, Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Blade of the Ruined King, Kraken Slayer, Guardian Angel

On-Hit Twisted Fate Runes Setup

Primary: Press the Attack, Triumph, Legend:Alacrity, Coup De Grace
Secondary: Taste of Blood, Ravenous Hunter

How It Works

Wit’s End Buff
The new Wit’s End provides 20 bonus movement speed on hit, giving Twisted Fate huge chase potential and mitigating the lack of having a Rapid Firecannon. This also gives him strong survivability mid-lane against AP laners and assassins.

Blade of the Ruined King

Stats
+40 attack damage
+30% attack speed
+12% life steal

Passive
UNIQUE – MIST’S EDGE: Basic attacks deal (Melee 10% / Ranged 6%) of the target’s current health bonus physical damage on-hit, capped at 60 bonus damage against minions and monsters.

UNIQUE – SIPHON: Basic attacks on-hit apply a stack to enemy champions for 6 seconds, up to 2 stacks. Attacking a champion with 2 stacks consumes them to deal 40 − 120 (based on level) bonus magic damage on-hit and steal 25% of their movement speed for 2 seconds (20 second cooldown).

Changes to this item grant TF a passive movespeed Siphon. While this by itself isn’t particuarly useful to TF, it does allow him to focus on using pick-a-card rather than trying to get in range to slow the enemy champion with the old active.

Kraken Slayer [Mythic]

Stats
+60 attack damage
+25% attack speed
+20% critical strike chance
Passive
UNIQUE – BRING IT DOWN: Basic attacks on-attack grant a stack for 3 seconds, up to 2 stacks. At 2 stacks, the next basic attack on-attack consumes all stacks to deal 60 (+ 30% bonus AD) bonus true damage on-hit.
MYTHIC PASSIVE: Empowers your other Legendary items with 10% bonus attack speed.

Although it looks like he always builds it 5th, this item does provide a huge power spike even after the first three. After grabbing this item is probably where moving between attacks ends up a DPS loss unless you’re insanely good at clicking. The good news is you’ve now become a fountain of death.

Combined with Ravenous Hunter killing you at this point with crowd-control is nearly impossible and you can have 3 or 4 attacks in the air at the same time.

Potential Pitfalls

Lower Range
This version of Twisted Fate needs to be in auto-attack range without Rapidfire Cannon, which reduces his utility compared to standard AP Twisted Fate. Wild Cards is also a very long range spell and giving this up does reduce his effective distance by a great deal.
Difficult to Use Optimally
The high attack speed that TF gets in the build means you’ll often have to choose between suboptimal damage and dodging spells. However, the sustained damage that he puts out is absolutely insane.

Countering On-Hit Twisted Fate

Hard CC and attack speed reduction items will do well against Twisted Fate.

Conclusions

On-Hit Twisted Fate is incredibly fun if you get enough items to get him started. Overall I do think that the standard AP Twisted Fate is better but late game with full items this build is bonkers.
Suggested Tier: Tier 2

TURBO MODE ZILEAN

Originally posted by user FoxPatr0l on reddit, I was sent this insane video of a Zilean with 153 haste. Pumping a 9 second ultimate cooldown, the only that stopped this Zilean from blazing around the map was his mana cap. Check out the VOD and haste breakdown below!
Item Build: Shard of True Ice, Vigilant Wardstone, Ionian Boots, Liandry’s Anguish, Banshee’s Veil, Cosmic Drive

Runes
Primary: Arcane Comet, Manaflow Band, Transcendence, Scorch
Secondary: Eyeball Collection, Ultimate Hunter

Ability Haste VS Ability Cooldown:
The formula for an ability cooldown is: Base Cooldown × 100 ÷ (Ability Haste + 100)).

Zilean’s Chronoshift [R] base cooldown is 60 seconds
Without Cloud Drakes
Base Cooldown × 100 / (Ability Haste + 100)).
60 x 100 / (153+100)
6000 / 253 = 23.7 seconds
Ultimate Hunter Fully Stacked
25% Ultimate Cooldown
45 * 100 / 253 = 17.7 seconds
With Cloud Drake x4
Cloud Drake x4 : 40 ability haste for ultimate (says 40 ability haste but counts as 40%)
Recomputed:
21 * 100 / 253 = 8.3 seconds
MATH CHECKS OUT

153 ABILITY HASTE Calculation
Shard of True Ice: (LEGENDARY) [None]
Vigilant Wardstone (LEGENDARY) [ 40 ability haste ]

 Ionian Boots [ 15 ability haste ]

 Liandry’s Anguish (MYTHIC) [ 20 ability haste ] + 5 per legendary item (20 total)
Banshee’s Veil (LEGENDARY) [10 ability haste]
Cosmic Drive (LEGENDARY) [30 ability haste]
Ability Haste Rune: 8
Transcendence: 10
Total: 153
MATH STILL CHECKS OUT

MORE HASTE?!

The highest attainable ability haste is 223 fully stacked with ultimate hunter and cloud drakes, this gives Zilean the following ultimate cooldown:
21 * 100 / 323 = 6.5 seconds

He’d have to build a few nonsense items like Navori Quickblades though…

Maybe he would have survived with a little bit more. Thoughts? Comment below!

AP Maokai Support with Liandry’s Anguish BROKEN OP

Guide to Playing AP Maokai Support

I’ve been spamming a lot of AP Maokai Support in solo queue lately, and it’s honestly one of the strongest fun support builds I’ve gotten to play. His sapling map control is insane and watching enemies try and run from them is hilarious.
Check out the details on runes and builds below!

Guide to Playing AP Maokai Support

I’ve been spamming a lot of AP Maokai Support in solo queue lately, and it’s honestly one of the strongest fun support builds I’ve gotten to play. His sapling map control is insane and watching enemies try and run from them is hilarious.
Meanwhile, his all-ins are so easy to execute while simultaneously being highly effective. Did I mention this DAMAGE? Look at this, it’s almost as much as a Teemo x.X
Check out the details on runes and builds below!

How to Play
Abilities: E, W, Q then prioritize R > E > Q > W

Summoner Spells: Flash + Exhaust

Starting Items: Spellthief Edge + Healh Potions

Strategy: Throw Saplings into bushes for massive damage

Core Items: Spellthief’s Edge, Sorcerer’s Shoes, Liandry’s Anguish, Morellonomicon, Demonic Embrace, Void Staff

Rune Setup

Primary: Arcane Comet, Manaflow Band, Transcendence, Scorch
Secondary: Magical Footwear, Biscuit Delivery

How It Works

Massive Percent Based Sapling Damage

Combining the below provides Maokai with perfect synergy to absolutely annihilate enemies. Generally, games don’t last long enough for you to also pick up Demonic Embrace (Morellonomicon is better as a second item). However, if you do get to build it then it deals even MORE maximum health burn damage.
The dot duration of Maokai’s sapling also means that they take more damage from the magic penetration of Liandry’s Anguish.

Sapling Toss [E]

Saplings placed in a brush have a 30 (+ 2.5% bonus health) second duration and additionally reveal struck targets for 2 seconds, dealing a total of 200% damage to them over the duration, capped at 600 against non-champions.

INCREASED MAGIC DAMAGE:

50 / 100 / 150 / 200 / 250 (+ 14 / 14.5 / 15 / 15.5 / 16% (+ 2% per 100 AP) of target’s maximum health)

Liandry’s Anguish

+80 ability power
+20 ability haste
+600 mana
Passive
UNIQUE – TORMENT: Dealing ability damage burns enemies, causing them to take「 60 (+ 10% AP) (+ 4% target’s maximum health) magic damage over 4 seconds 」and the user to ignore 5% of their magic resistance, increasing by 5% per second over 4 seconds, up to 15%.
MYTHIC PASSIVE: Empowers your other Legendary items with 5 ability haste.

Excellent Map Control

Maokai’s saplings scale with AP, which means that the more AP you have, the longer the Saplings can survive in bushes. The long-range toss gives Maokai the ability to scout safely and to zone off potential ganks.
Powerful Crowd Control
As far as crowd control goes, Maokai has some of the strongest in the game, rivaling even Leona when it comes to pure lockdown time in both single target and AOE CC. If you run Exhaust instead of ignite, there’s relatively little that the enemy marksman can do to retaliate.

Good Jungle Sustain

After buffs on all the jungle camps combined with nerfs on the importance of Scuttle Crab, Kha’Zix is a comparatively stronger jungle champion now. Other champions that had trouble clearing are fading into obscurity while champions with strong clear power excel.

Potential Pitfalls

Not as Tanky
This build isn’t as tanky as his Aftershock + tank item build. Given that this build is still relatively new, if you end up with more deaths than usual expect some flame coming your way.
Neutral Reliant Early Game
Since Maokai needs bush control the early game, if your ADC is strong enough to push all the way to the enemy turret he’s a bit lackluster since his diving power isn’t as good as AP and his saplings won’t have much power without bush empowerment. The good news is, if you’re dominating your lane you’re still winning…until the jungler ganks.

Conclusions

AP Maokai Support is incredibly strong right now with the new items, and even more so with all the tanks running around the rift. He deals considerable damage and simultaneously provides massive crowd-control for your team.
Suggested Tier: God Tier

This new Katarina AD Tank build players are running is absolutely insane! Ever since Katarina’s skills were given on-hit abilities, she’s able to utilize items like Blade of the Ruined King and Titanic Hydra procs on her spells to great effect. Not only is she nearly unkillable, but she also gets a number of additional…fascinating effects…

Check out the details on runes and builds below!

How to Play BoTRK Katarina
Abilities: Q, E, W then prioritize R > Q > E > W

Summoner Spells  [  or  ]

Starting Items: Long Sword + Health Potions

Strategy: Standard Katarina playstyle, but this build makes you much more tanky than usual. It also gives you more tank-killing potential.

Core Items: Blade of the Ruined King, Sorcerer’s Shoes, Titanic Hydra, Riftmaker, Lichbane, Demonic Embrace

BoTRK Katarina Runes Setup

Primary: EConqueror, Triumph, Legend:Tenacity, Coup De Grace
Secondary: Conditioning, Overgrowth

How It Works

This item provides an incredible number of uses for Katarina. Not only does she get the on-hit effects via her new buff, but also the movement speed siphon. This essentially replaces Gunblade and provides everything the Gunblade gave her and more. The new attack speed scaling on her ultimate also helps alleviate the lack of AP on BoTRK

Titanic Hydra

Stats
+30 attack damage
+500 health
Passive
UNIQUE – COLOSSUS: Gain bonus attack damage equal to 1% of maximum health.
UNIQUE – CLEAVE: Basic attacks deal (Melee 5 / Ranged 3.75) (+ (Melee 1.5% / Ranged 1.125%) bonus health) bonus physical damage on-hit to your target and (Melee 40 / Ranged 30) (+ (Melee 3% / Ranged 2.25%) bonus health) bonus physical damage to other enemies in a cone on-hit. Cleave’s damage also applies to structures.

This item looks sooooo troll but ends up being incredibly nutty. The damage boost on-hit applies on her ultimate (just like every other on-hit), and gives her ultimate cone damage in all directions. It also makes Katarina very tanky and difficult to kill.

Massive Omnivamp and Damage
Combining Riftmaker, Conqueror, and Blade of the Ruined King gives Katarina an absolutely incredible amount of lifesteal, making her impossible to kill without crowd control. Her damage is also just as high as you’d expect from Katarina as an AP champion, but with the added bonus of dealing percent based damage via Blade of the Ruined King for maximum shredding.

Potential Pitfalls

Slightly Lower Burst Damage
This build deals plenty of damage, but overall Katarina does get higher scaling from AP. This means if you’re into quick one-shots you may not find as much satisfaction from this build. This also means that the enemy team has slightly more margin of error for throwing CC out before you annihilate their team.

Countering BoTRK Katarina

Picking champions with strong crowd-control and building grievous wounds would do well in anti-Katarina comps.

Conclusions

BoTRK Katarina is extremely strong and has few real weaknesses. This build in particular gives her a lot more utility and stats than most Katarina players are used to having. After playing this build a few times I’d say this might actually be stronger than the Lichbane/Nashor’s Tooth/Riftmaker build since it makes her incredibly hard to kill.
Suggested Tier: High Tier 1

Be sure to check out the regular ranked queue list, and the FOTM tier list as well!

The purpose of this list is to discover optimal bans, with the knowledge that enemy teams will likely ban the ones at the top of the list.

Banning Thought Process

  1. Which champions could the enemy team pick that would really screw my team over?
  2. Which champions could the enemy team pick that would really screw ME over?
  3. Which of the champions above is the enemy team likely going to pick if it’s not banned?
  4. Which of the champions above is the enemy team probably going to ban?
After considering these items, it’s time to hit the ban phase.

Method

To do this list, I first start with whichever statistical compilation site I have available (my personal preference is leagueofgraphs.com). Afterwards, I check the most banned champions and separate them into either “God Tier” or “Meh Bans” based on win rate and popularity, sometimes subjective reasoning (in which case I’d do a write-up).
Last I do an analysis of both the win rate and the popularity by division and add in good bans for that division based on such.
Some people may note that most sites don’t distinguish between “Platinum Only” and “Platinum and Higher“. However, this generally doesn’t make much of a difference as a result of the way the overall player distribution is between the ranks. Bronze and Silver make up the highest percentage of error, but generally run similar to each other.

Instructions and Caveats

  • Champions in BOLD I will talk about shortly
  • Champions UNDERLINED may be over/undervalued, but aren’t/haven’t played enough for me to make a better judgment.
  • Within each tier, the champions are strongest from left to right, but within a tier, each champion’s strength is relatively close. This is especially true for Tiers 2 and 3 where these champions are ALL highly playable and player dependent on how strong they are in-game.
  • Win Rates are important in analyzing each champion’s strength but are not the end-all criteria for any champion’s position.
  • Professional Picks may not necessarily translate into good picks for the solo queue ladder, the two have slightly different meta-games and skill levels.
  • The creator of this list is diamond so there may be some personal bias towards higher tier play on certain champions.

League of Legends Tier List Descriptions

When making this tier list we initially considered using tier list descriptions similar to others with S-tier, A-tier etc. However, In the initial build of the tier list way back when we started, it was more popular to use a God Tier designation and then go down from there on the tier list. As a result, we’ve stuck by this concept through the years. However, since God Tier is supposed to be relatively exclusive on this tier list, we try and limit it to only three or four picks at most. This means that there may be champions that are close to God tier on this tier list, but don’t quite make it and are instead at the top of Tier 1.

God Tier: These champions are almost impossible to keep down. If your team doesn’t make it a priority to shut down these champions and shut them down hard, even if they lose their lane, lose in CS, and it’s their first time playing the champion, they can be a massive nuisance for your team. On the other hand, if they’re actually good at the champion…that’s when it’s time to throw in the towel.

Tier 1: These champions generally do very well regardless, and have some sort of advantage over most other champions. When they do well, their team does well. Even when they don’t do well, their team still has a good chance of a comeback victory by utilizing one or more aspects of their late-game utility.

Tier 2: This is the Tier of balanced champions where Riot shoots to place their designs. These champions generally do well in their own right and are very strong picks with a good chance of winning. However, they’re not overpowered by any means and do have their weaknesses.

Tier 3: These champions can still do very well, but tend to need a little more snowballing to get rolling. Even if they get an early lead, it’s still very possible to turn the tides on them with just a mistake or two. They may also have some weaknesses that can be capitalized on.

Tier 4: These champions are either underpowered or offer less reward than other champions for the same amount of effort. These champions basically start winning from the get-go or get made fun of for the rest of the game. They need gold to do their job correctly, and if they don’t get enough of it, they become sandbags for the enemy team to punch. Chances of a comeback with one of these champions feeding on your team is almost none.

Thoughts on Win Rates

In the past, some people complained that this tier list focused too much on win rates and not enough on play rates. However, this tier list takes into account both win rates and play rates before performing analysis on the champion. Just because there’s a high correlation on win rates and position on the tier list doesn’t indicate that this tier list is solely based on win rates, if anything the champion power level drives the win rates and supports the claim to validity.

League of Legends is an extremely intricate game and this tier list strives to be as accurate as possible to give you the strongest champion picks. We ordered them on the tier list based on what is most likely to give you the highest chance of winning the game. However, the tier list will over time, have a bias towards win rates since this does indicate that the ordering is accurate and not prone to fluctuations in play rate.

With enough playtime, a high win rate on a champion indicates *something* generally goes right, and a low win rate indicates that whatever is happening in games with this champion isn’t in their favor.

A low win rate may mean a champion is being played incorrectly and is stronger than his win rate indicates, but a top 25 win rate (with 120 champions) almost always indicates that a champion is at least a good candidate for Tier 1 or high Tier 2 if the sample size is large enough.

This means that champions with high win rates do not mean that they’re necessarily GOOD right now, especially if they have a low play rate or tend to get into favorable match-ups. If we feel this is the case, these champions will place differently on this tier list than you’d think.

Similarly, champions with low win rates that are still within the acceptable deviations may end up slightly higher than you’d expect from a champion with mediocre win rates.

If there are champions on this tier list with low overall play rates but good win rates after relatively few games of practice, it may mean that players that pick those champions up just to try them are bringing down the average. If this is the case, we will place them higher on the list.

More thoughts on win rates here.

Counter Picking Champions

In Tier 3 of this tier list, we’ve placed certain champions that are good as a second pick, but can get spanked hard if they end up first picking by a variety of meta champions. If you’re good at a large variety of champions, picking a champion that counters your lane is a good place to start. If you can get a slight advantage and don’t have a clear experience advantage, picking a champion that both places high on this tier list and also counters your enemy lane may give you enough to win a game.

LoL Tier List Champion Explanations

Annie [Tier 1 Mid]

Ever since Annie’s Molten Shield [E] change to provide 60% movement speed, she’s become significantly stronger. When you combine this with the burst damage and bonus movespeed from Luden’s Echo she becomes an incredibly consistent engage champion that deals massive damage…just as mother advertised.

Ivern [Tier 1 Jungle]

The latest jungle changes affect Ivern…actually no they don’t. He wasn’t a great jungler before the changes, but decent. Now that the jungle’s nerfed a bunch of other champions, he’s at essentially the same spot. Not a great jungler, but decent.

Karthus [Tier 3 Jungle]

Nerfs to Karthus’ Q in Patch 10.22 coupled with the jungle strength increase in Patch 10.23 make Karthus nearly unplayable. His clear is now very dangerous and the multitude of tanks makes it difficult for him to avoid getting dove and passive proc’d before getting in position.

Kassadin [Tier 3 Mid]

Removal of Rod of Ages coupled with a lack of clear synergy with mythic items makes Kassadin incredibly weak this patch. He’s doing decently with Luden’s but otherwise, there are certainly better choices at this point.

Kha’Zix [God Tier Jungle]

Kha’Zix in his current state is incredibly obnoxious. When you combine him with Duskblade and an evolved R, he continuously blinks in and out of visibility. This makes him incredibly difficult to track and even more difficult to survive.
.

Malphite [God Tier Top]

Sunfire Aegis in its current form is unsustainable and Malphite is the biggest offender. For a champion that was already unkillable to gain massive damage boosts simply makes him impossible to deal with.

Nunu [God Tier Jungle]

Tank item buffs, jungle strength increases, and removal of scuttle crab sustain? Hi Nunu. Nunu benefits off literally every change in patch 10.23 and it’s no wonder it’s made him absurdly powerful. Considering his already good jungle strength before pre-season, now he’s just rolling over the enemy competition.

Skarner [Tier 1 Jungle]

Turbo Chemtank provides excellent synergy to Skarner’s kit and tanks are naturally very good in the current meta. This makes Skarner not only viable again, but strong in nearly any situtation. Better start stocking up on QSS!

Trundle[Tier 1 Jungle]

Trundle is extremely underplayed and underappreciated. For a champion that utilizes tank items very well and simultaneously provides tank killing power, he’ll definitely get more play time once players decide they actually want to win games instead of preseason trolling. Gotta fight trolling with trolling.

Viktor [God Tier Mid]

Viktor’s synergy with Luden’s Tempest is incredible. When you combine this with the slightly overtuned buffs for the val of his upgradable Hex Core you get a champion that’s blazingly fast and simultaneously incredibly strong. Even after the nerfs he still continues to run over enemies with ease.

Vladimir [Tier 2 Mid]

As a top laner it’s a bit difficult to judge Vladimir’s current strength since he needs to deal with all the overpowered tank champions. However, as a mid laner he has some hope. On the release of prepatch his E was bugged to start the cooldown after he released, but it’s since been fixed. We’ll see how much he’s improved as a result of that change, but I’m leaving him in Tier 2 and reserving judgment for now despite his horrendous win rate.

Kha’Zix *BUSTED* AF WIth New Duskblade

    Guide to Playing Kha’Zix Jungle

Now I know we just put out a guide on some of the most overpowered champions as of Patch 10.23’s launch but didn’t mention thia guy, primarily because his win rate isn’t well…THAT absurd. Sitting at a mere 53% he didn’t quite make the cut but I gotta tell ya…this guy is INSANE with the new Duskblade and if you’re not playing him you’re missing out.

Check out the details on runes and builds below!

    How to Play
    Abilities: Q, W, E then prioritize R > Q > E > W [Q evolution first, then R evolution]

    Summoner Spells: Flash + Smite

Starting Items: Hailblade + Refillable Potion

Strategy: Rush Duskblade then kill everyone

Core Items: Hailblade, Duskblade of Draktharr, Boots of Mobility, Youmuu’s Ghostblade, Edge of Night, Death’s Dance

    Rune Setup

Primary: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Tenacity, Cut Down
    Secondary: Sudden Impact, Ravenous Hunter

    How It Works

    Duskblade of Draktharr
    Stats
    +20 ability haste
    +55 attack damage
    Passive
+18 Lethality (11.2 − 18 (based on level) armor penetration)
UNIQUE – NIGHTSTALKER: Basic attacking an enemy champion deals 100 (+ 30% bonus AD) bonus physical damage on-hit and Slow icon.png slows them by 99% for 0.25 seconds (15 second cooldown). Champion takedowns within 3 seconds reset this effect’s cooldown and grant you invisibility for 1.5 seconds.
MYTHIC PASSIVE: Empowers your other Legendary items with 5 ability haste.

This item is absolutely bonkers on Kha’Zix and when you combine it with your evolved R, Kha’Zix continuously blinks in and out of existence like a ninja on steroids.

    No CC
Not that it’s stopped him before, but a lack of CC can pose trouble if you’re poorly positioned or your team lacks any form of CC at all.
    Mediocre Early Game
Before Kha’Zix picks up his ultimate and Duskblade, these changes obviously don’t do much for him. He’s still good 1v1 if he gets invaded, but isn’t terribly scary early on.

    Conclusions

Kha’Zix Jungle was already good before this latest patch and the new item changes have only propelled him further. He’s incredibly strong right now and might need some nerfs.
    Suggested Tier: God Tier
