Xbox One Black Friday 2019: The Best Console And Accessory Deals

Project Scarlett, the early name for Microsoft’s next console, is due to to launch next year, which means major discounts on Xbox One consoles during Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year. Accessories are following suit, and with Xbox One controllers being compatible with PCs, now’s the time to find the perfect gift (for yourself or others!) to improve your Xbox One gaming experience in time for the holidays.

Black Friday 2019: Xbox One deals to expect

We’re expecting both the Xbox One X and Xbox One S to be discounted, in addition to its various controllers and accessories. If there’s stock, it’ll likely be on sale. Last year, we saw deals that brought the Xbox One X down to $400–$100 off its regular price. According to early Black Friday 2019 ads, Xbox One X bundles will dip to $350 during this year’s sale. Meanwhile, Xbox One S bundles are going for $200, and the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition will be available for just $150 during Black Friday.

As for accessories, it’s likely we’ll see numerous discounts, including the first edition of the Xbox One Elite Controller. The Elite Series 2 controller just released, but since it is a premium item, don’t expect to see a heavy discount on it. Of course, we’re always ready for a Black Friday surprise, and we’ll report back if this changes.

A large number of Black Friday Xbox One discounts are expected to be revealed at Xbox’s X019 event on November 14. The Inside Xbox livestream is scheduled for 12 PM PT / 3 PM PT that day, and you’ll be able to tune in on Mixer, Twitch, or YouTube. When those deals are announced, we’ll be sure to include that info here.

Xbox One Black Friday 2019 Deals: Save On Call Of Duty Modern Warfare, Gears 5, And More

Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2019 are next week, which means another round of huge deals on Xbox One consoles, bundles, games, and more. If you’ve had an eye on a particular Xbox One game, next week is probably your best time to strike, since the extended sales weekend will have some fantastic deals.

We expect a large number of Xbox One games will be marked down, and with retailers releasing their ads so early this year, we have a good idea which games will be on sale. We’ve already seen recent releases like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (as low as $38) and Need For Speed Heat ($30) get Black Friday price cuts, and we may even see discounts for recently-released games like Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and Shenmue III–at the very least, we’ll probably see them bundled with special bonuses. According to early Black Friday ads, some games released at the beginning of 2019 will be available for sub-$20 prices (their lowest yet), including Resident Evil 2, The Division 2, and Kingdom Hearts III.

If you’re an Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member, you can get limited-time early access to Xbox Live’s digital games sale right now. While not always as cheap as the physical versions you’ll find during Black Friday, those looking for downloadable games have a ton of options, including the full Assassin’s Creed series, Sekiro, and more.

In the meantime, we’ve rounded up the best Xbox One game deals confirmed for Black Friday below, and this story will be updated regularly as we spot more discounts. While specific start times will vary by retailer, many of these game discounts will be live starting Thanksgiving Day. For more Black Friday 2019 Xbox One deals, be sure to check out our guide to the best Xbox One console and accessory deals, which include some great Xbox One X bundles for $350, Xbox One S bundles for $200, and the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition for $150.

Xbox One’s Black Friday Xbox Live Game Sale Is Live Early For Some

Black Friday is nearly upon us, and the Xbox One Black Friday digital games sale has gone live early. It brings enormous savings to Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, who have access to this sale starting now; anyone without Gold or Ultimate will have to wait until November 24 to get their hands on these deals.

There are some huge savings here on more recent games, including Resident Evil 2 at 67% off, a half-price NBA 2K20, and a much cheaper Red Dead Redemption 2. We’ve rounded up a selection of deals below, and we’ve also put together a more extensive look at the best Xbox Live game deals for Xbox One owners. While the majority of what you’ll find are Xbox One games, there are also a bunch of high-quality backwards-compatible games for Xbox 360 and the original Xbox that you can play on One, including earlier entries in the Splinter Cell series.

If you’re picking up an Xbox One in a Black Friday sale, this is a good opportunity to build up your collection. Plus, be sure to check out all the early Xbox Black Friday deals available to you now. Stay tuned for the possibility of more deals being added. Sony’s Black Friday PS4 PSN game sale has a staggered rollout, and while many of the games on sale are the same as on Xbox Live, we know that, for instance, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s base version won’t be on sale until November 28. It’s possible we could see the same happen on Xbox One, as only special editions of the game are currently on sale on Xbox Live.

Update: Amazon is now starting to price-match some of these Xbox One digital deals, giving you a chance to snag these games at a discount without a subscription.

Be sure to look out for other bargains, digital or otherwise, during Black Friday, and check out our guides for the best deals on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Cyber Monday 2019: Dates, Deals, And More

Black Friday may be getting all the attention when it comes to finding the best gaming deals for the holiday season, but we shouldn’t forget about Cyber Monday 2019! It’s admittedly easy for the holiday to get lost in the shuffle; after all, it’s become part of the increasingly long holiday shopping season. But that doesn’t mean you won’t find some pretty big deals for Cyber Monday this year, especially if you’ve got your eye on a new PS4, Turtle Beach headset, or other cool piece of tech and don’t want to brave the cold to get them. Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for Cyber Monday 2019 before all the good deals are gone.

What is Cyber Monday?

Cyber Monday is basically an extension of Black Friday, except you’re sitting at a desk pretending to work while browsing deals instead of physically shoving your way through crowded stores (although many Black Friday deals are, thankfully, available online as well). The online shopping holiday is relatively new, dating back only to 2005, and it was created to encourage people to shop online and to compete with brick-and-mortar stores’ sales on Black Friday.

The online-only deals may not be as good as the doorbuster sales on Black Friday, but since those brick-and-mortar deals tend to have low stock and long lines, you really can’t beat the ease and convenience of shopping on Cyber Monday (and online shopping in general).

When is Cyber Monday 2019?

Cyber Monday is always the Monday after Thanksgiving, and this year, that falls on December 2. Because of Black Friday, many sales will run that entire weekend and even into the following week, but certain deals will become available only on that Monday.

Best Cyber Monday 2019 deals to expect

Many retailers have released their Black Friday 2019 ads, giving us an overview of the best deals that’ll be available Thanksgiving weekend. Unfortunately, those ads tend to focus on the weeks leading up to and during Black Friday rather than Cyber Monday. In our experience, we won’t learn about the best Cyber Monday deals until days before it happens.

Cyber Monday deals will be similar to what we see during Black Friday, and you can check out our full Black Friday 2019 guide for more information on those deals. That said, we don’t recommend waiting until Cyber Monday if you see a good deal on Black Friday; it’s highly unlikely any Cyber Monday deals will top those we see on that Friday. It’s more likely that some of the best Black Friday deals will be restocked for Cyber Monday.

Some of Cyber Monday’s best deals will include the PS4 Slim holiday bundle with God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition, and The Last of Us Remastered for $200. We expect this bundle will sell out fast, but it may see a restock on Cyber Monday. Nintendo’s officially holiday bundle, the Nintendo Switch (old model) with a digital copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for $300, kicks off on November 28 and will likely be available until Cyber Monday. Otherwise, it’s hard to say exactly which deals may continue into Cyber Monday. The new wave of deals for Cyber Week will probably be announced right after Black Friday, and we’ll be ready to update this story with all the best deals when they’re available.

How to get the best Cyber Monday deals

The same way you get the best Black Friday deals: by paying attention to what retailers announce the weekend before Cyber Monday and having a plan for what products you want. You can also use CamelCamelCamel to check the price history on products at Amazon and browser extension Honey to find coupons from across the web. Browser add-on PriceBlink will also let you know if a specific product is cheaper elsewhere.

Of course, you’ll want to stay tuned to GameSpot, as we’ll be covering all the best deals for Cyber Monday 2019 once they’re announced. And remember: If you spot a good deal, hop on it fast, as the hottest products will sell out in the blink of an eye. For the most up-to-date information, be sure to follow GameSpot Deals on Twitter–we’ll keep you posted on the best deals in gaming and entertainment as we spot them. Plus, see our sister sites for more Cyber Monday tech deals, Cyber Monday kitchen deals, and Cyber Monday fashion and beauty deals.

Additionally, Xbox One controllers will see lowered prices with up to $20 off, while Design Lab controllers get a $10 discount.

Thankfully, if you want to be eligible for the early deals that began on November 21, you can take advantage of a Black Friday offer that’s available to new Game Pass Ultimate subscribers right now. Microsoft is currently offering new subscribers their first three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for only $1. Ultimate bundles Game Pass for console and PC, in addition to Xbox Live Gold. New subscribers will also get six months of Spotify, as long as they’re not already subscribed to the music-streaming service. On top fo that, new and existing subscribers get a free month of EA Access and three free months of Discord Nitro–like Spotify, you must also be new subscribers to both services.

Xbox All Access returns

Microsoft also recently announced that the Xbox All Access program is back for another holiday season. Anyone who doesn’t want to pay the full price for a console upfront can instead opt for a monthly payment plan. The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition goes for $20/month, the Xbox One S for $23/month, and the powerful Xbox One X for $31/month. Each option runs for 24 months and comes with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for the full duration of the plan.

The best part of this round of All Access is that you’ll have the option to upgrade to Project Scarlett, the new Xbox console that is scheduled to arrive next holiday. Xbox One X All Access members will be eligible to upgrade after 12 months, but Xbox One S members will have to wait 18 months. All-Digital Edition members will also have to pay a $20 upgrade fee.

All upgrades must go through the retailer you purchased your original 24-month plan from, and you’ll have to re-up to a new 24-month plan (with new terms and pricing). In the US, Amazon is currently the only retailer offering All Access–in the UK, customers can subscribe starting November 5 at Smyths and GAME.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Update Out Now, Full Patch Notes Revealed

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has received several patches since launch, a few of which have targeted the game’s 725 double-barreled shotgun. Developer Infinity Ward has released yet another Modern Warfare patch aimed at improving stability, addressing bugs and balance tweaks, and more.

Infinity Ward posted the patch notes on Reddit, where the studio outlined all the changes in the update that is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The full patch notes can be viewed below.

This new Modern Warfare patch makes a few adjustments to accessibility. You can now enable an “Always Sprint” option instead of holding the sprint button. Further, the studio tweaked the volume and sound type of footsteps while aiming down sights. The update also “fixes various exploits across all maps and modes,” though Infinity Ward has not explained what these exploits are.

Elsewhere in the patch, Infinity Ward made changes to killstreaks and the spawn camera, updates to various Challenge Mission descriptions, fixes to perks and thermal scopes, and much more.

Unlike like patches before it, this Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update does not touch the 725 double-barreled shotgun. The first-person shooter’s last three patches all tweaked the 725 in some respect, a shotgun that was capable of shooting and killing from across the map.

Black Friday 2019 Deals For Nintendo Switch: Games, Joy-Cons, And More

We don’t see deals for Nintendo games as often as we might like, which makes the times they do go on sale notable. Black Friday 2019 will some significant discounts on Switch games across several stores, and Nintendo’s Black Friday page also says to “check back soon for more deals,” which means more deals are on the way in the lead-up to the Black Friday. That said, the Switch (and newly launched Switch Lite) are selling so well we probably won’t see too many deals on them, aside from the same Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle we saw last year, which is a bit of a bummer, admittedly.

Still, we’ll certainly be seeing an Eshop sale that will discount digital Switch games, presumably along with those for 3DS. In fact, Nintendo’s Black Friday Eshop sale has already been previewed for Europe and includes the expected discounts on a mix of first- and third-party games. Among them are Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Cadence of Hyrule, and Dragon Quest Builders 2, all of which will be 30% off.

Microsoft, Best Buy, and Target have also revealed the sales they’ll have ready for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so make sure to check those out if you’re shopping around.

In terms of Nintendo’s official lineup of deals, first up is an assortment of Nintendo Switch games. Normally sold for $60, the following games will be available for $40 (33% off) at Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart starting Wednesday, November 27:

While Nintendo’s page says these games will be available for $40, Target’s Black Friday ad claims the store will offer The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Tennis Aces, and Super Mario Odyssey for only $30 each as limited-time doorbuster deals. Also, please note that more games may be on sale as well, but the Nintendo website only confirms the above titles. Finally, if you prefer to buy games digitally, the Nintendo Eshop’s deals will likely be revealed at a later date.

Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers are also getting a discount during Black Friday. Normally sold for $80 a pair, you’ll be able to pick up a new pair of either gray or neon red and blue Joy-Cons for $60 (25% off). This offer will be available at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target starting Wednesday, November 27.

For those who play Pokemon Go or the Pokemon: Let’s Go Switch games, the Poke Ball Plus is a handy accessory for storing and catching Pokemon. It also comes with Mew, a mythical Pokemon that you can transfer into Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu or Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee. Normally sold for $50, the Poke Ball Plus will be on sale for just $20 (60% off) at Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart starting Thursday, November 28.

Finally, if you were hoping for a price drop on the Nintendo Switch itself, you might be out of luck. Nintendo is offering the Switch bundled with a free digital copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for its full price of $300. If you have a good memory, you might recall this is the exact same bundle offered during Black Friday 2018. The difference this year, however, is that an upgraded Switch model with better battery life has since been released, but this particular bundle includes the original model without that improvement.

That said, if you’re interested in Mario Kart and don’t mind forgoing the extra battery life, this is still a solid deal. While not included in Nintendo’s Black Friday game deals, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe usually goes for around $50 on Amazon and elsewhere, so you’re saving a good wad of cash on this bundle. The console deal will be available at Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart starting Thursday, November 28.

GameStop Store Hours For Black Friday 2019: When Deals Go Live

If you’re looking for a reason to duck out of Thanksgiving dinner a little early for Black Friday 2019, GameStop has your back. The company will be open fairly early during the holiday this year–from 3 PM local time on Thanksgiving Day and through 10 PM. GameStop’s stuck to these hours since 2017, but it’s nice to have them confirmed again.

Before 2017, however, GameStop remained closed on Thanksgiving Day out of respect for the company’s workers who might have had family gatherings that day.

GameStop’s Black Friday deals actually begin even earlier, as the deals will go live on GameStop’s website beginning Wednesday, November 27 at 8 PM CT.

On Black Friday itself, November 29, GameStop will open at 7 AM and close at 10 PM. You can see GameStop’s full Black Friday store hour schedule below.
