LoL: Schalke 04 Pick Up Former TSM Top Laner Broken Blade
TSM has found a new home for top laner Broken Blade as he looks set to return to Europe with Schalke 04.
After spending the past two years with TSM in the LCS, Sergen “Broken Blade” Çelik is set to head back to the European region, having spent most of his time in the Turkish Leauge. He spent a short period at the start of his career in Europe with Mysterious Monkeys in the 2017 EUCS (former EU Academy).
Broken Blade will join Schalke 04 as a replacement for Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu who’s joined fellow LEC side Rogue. Broken Blade was left out of TSM’s plans after they made a shock signing of Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon from Evil Geniuses. Crucially for TSM, Huni became an NA resident this year, which frees up a spot on the roster which Broken Blade was taking up.
Broken Blade was well received generally on TSM, though the side had had some struggles since he joined, he was able to clinch an LCS Summer Split title before he left. He was also part of TSM’s Worlds 2020 roster, though the side ultimately dropped out of Worlds in a disappointing 0-6 showing.
Broken Blade will join Erberk “Gilius” Demir. The rest of the roster is unknown, though Schalke 04 has been rumored to pick up SK Gaming support Dino “LIMIT” Tot. ADC Matiús “Neon” Jakubcik is also expected to stay with Schlake 04 for the 2021 season.
