My Hero One’s Justice 2 Trailer Highlights More Characters And New Mechanics

Bandai Namco has released a brand-new My Hero One’s Justice 2 trailer showing some of the game’s features. These include new characters, added systems, increased customization options, and more.

My Hero One’s Justice 2 will feature characters not seen in the first game. Alongside previously announced fighters like Mina Ashido and Minoru Mineta, newcomers such as BMI Hero: Fat Gum and Sir Nighteye will be playable. Additional villains have also been added to the game’s roster, including Mr. Compress and Twice.

The trailer, below, also briefly showed off some new mechanics and systems coming to My Hero One’s Justice 2. Customization appears to have been increased, giving you more options to style the characters before heading into battle. My Hero One’s Justice 2 will feature stage destruction, a first for this 3D brawling franchise. And continuing on the new trend, the My Hero One’s Justice sequel will let you battle with up to three other players in 2v2 combat. It’s unclear if this mode can be played offline, online, or both.

A Gematsu report revealed My Hero One’s Justice 2 before it was officially announced. The initial report stated that the upcoming sequel would feature “significantly upgraded” Quirk abilities.

My Hero One’s Justice 2 will launch on March 13, 2020 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

The Walking Dead has seen quite a few video game adaptations over the past decade, and now it’s coming to VR. The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners is coming to pretty much every virtual reality headset available on the market today–however, not all at once.

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners hits Steam and the Oculus Store on January 23. On that day, it’ll only be compatible with the Valve Index, HTC Vive, HTC Cosmos, Oculus Rift and Rift S, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets. Of course, you’ll also be able to play it on the Oculus Quest with the recently released Link beta, but a proper port for the all-in-one headset is scheduled for Q3 2020 (July-September). PlayStation VR will see the game hit its storefront a little earlier in Q1 2020 (January-March).

There are three different editions for The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners. The standard edition comes with the game and “The Sheriff” revolver pre-order bonus for $40 USD. The Tourist edition, on the other hand, comes with even more digital bonuses, including more weapons and the soundtrack. And lastly, the physical Tower edition comes with some physical goodies like a reversible backpack that doubles as a VR headset carrying case. You can see more on all of these additions below.

Pokemon Go: New Legendary, Virizion, Now Available

A new Legendary Pokemon has arrived in Pokemon Go. Following Terrakion‘s departure from the game, the third Sword of Justice, Virizion, is now available until January 7, making this your first chance to add one to your collection.

As is typically the case with Legendaries, Virizion can only be encountered in five-star Raids. To catch it, you’ll first need to team up with other players and battle it. If you can successfully defeat Virizion, everyone who participated in the Raid will receive a handful of Premier Balls and the opportunity to capture it.

Like the other Swords of Justice, Virizion is a dual-type Legendary–in this case, a Grass and Fighting type. That makes it particularly susceptible to Flying Pokemon, although Fire, Ice, Poison, Psychic, and Fairy types will also have an advantage over it. Your best bet for defeating Virizion is to bring along Pokemon like Lugia, Entei, Glaceon, and Gardevoir.

Virizion isn’t the only Legendary appearing in Pokemon Go this week. The aforementioned Lugia is also returning to the game alongside Ho-Oh for a special Raid weekend. From December 20-23, the Legendaries will appear again in five-star Raids, giving you another opportunity to catch them.

Niantic still has a few other events lined up for Pokemon Go this month, including the game’s annual holiday celebration, which runs from December 24 to January 1. During that time, you’ll be able to encounter holiday versions of Pichu, Pikachu, Raichu, and Stantler, as well as two new Gen 5 Ice Pokemon: Cubchoo and Cryogonal. 2020, meanwhile, will bring the new Buddy Adventure feature to the game and another Community Day event. You can catch up on more Pokemon Go news below.

Sign-Ups For Phantasy Star Online 2 Beta Are Live Now, Exclusive To Xbox One

Sign-ups for the closed beta for Phantasy Star Online 2 are now live. The beta will only be hosted on Xbox One and, to participate, you need to be in the US or Canada.

To register for the closed beta, you need to own the Xbox Insider Hub app–so download it from the Xbox One Store if you haven’t already. Once the app is installed, open it, accept the terms of use if this is your first time using the Insider Hub, and then select “Insider Content” from the main dashboard. You’ll then see several category types. Under “Games,” select Phantasy Star Online 2. From there, you can join the sign-up list. The closed beta isn’t live yet, but you’ll receive a message through Xbox Live when it is. So be sure to remain online.

2012’s Phantasy Star Online 2 is the long-awaited sequel to 2000’s Phantasy Star Online, both published by Sega. Though the original game was quickly released to international audiences after its launch in Japan, its sequel did not–eventually, some fans began to believe it never would. So it was with great surprise that Microsoft, during its E3 2019 press conference, announced that the game was coming to North American audiences in early 2020.

A free-to-play action RPG, Phantasy Star Online 2 takes place in a fantasy setting of space exploration where you embark on missions to different planets to collect resources, save colonists, and battle powerful threats. In Phantasy Star Online 2, you start a new game by picking your in-game character’s gender, race, body and facial features, and class (of which there are nine). You can then tackle missions alone or with friends in online co-op (in either four-person assignments or 12-player multiparty areas). As you level up, you’ll be able to use more powerful weapons, firearms, and magical spells.

Phantasy Star Online 2 will release in North America on Xbox One and PC. In Japan, the game is already playable on PlayStation Vita, PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch–with no announced plans for an Xbox One port.

Telltale Starting The Wolf Among Us 2 From Scratch

Despite Telltale Games’ unexpected shuddering in November 2018, some of the studio’s properties are making a comeback. Following a reveal at this year’s Game Awards show, confirming the continued existence of The Wolf Among Us 2, the team has confirmed it’s starting the project all the way over.

In a USG interview, LCG Entertainment founder Jamie Ottilie confirmed that the relaunched Telltale studio has opted to redo everything on the forthcoming The Wolf Among Us sequel. “We have completely restarted the development of the game,” Ottilie told USG. “We felt it best to give the new creative team a clean slate to start with.”

LCG Entertainment acquired the Telltale Games moniker in August 2019 and is now the name the company operates under. Only a few original Telltale developers are employed at the newly-reformed Telltale studio, with Ottilie telling USG that “several others [are] on a freelance basis.” The Wolf Among Us 2 is being developed by Telltale and the brand-new AdHoc Studio–a team composed of former key members from the old Telltale, including individuals who worked on the original The Wolf Among Us.

According to USG, Adam Harrington (Bigby Wolf) and Erin Yvette (Snow White) are returning to reprise their roles in The Wolf Among Us 2. Further, series composer Jared Emerson-Johnson will return as well.

The Wolf Among Us 2 was announced just before San Diego Comic-Con in July 2017. At the time, the hotly-anticipated sequel was expected to launch in the second half of 2018. However, the title was delayed to 2019 “as the result of a few fundamental changes” at Telltale. The Wolf Among Us 2 will launch on PC via the Epic Games Store and consoles at some unspecified date.

Untitled Goose Game Free PS4 Dynamic Theme Available Now

Untitled Goose Game is undeniably one of 2019’s most unforgettable Switch games, and now the Goose is ready to wreak havoc on other platforms. As of today, the game is now available on PlayStation 4, and to celebrate, there’s a new dynamic theme available for PS4 owners. The Untitled Goose Game PS4 theme is free to download right now, if you’re ready to let the now-iconic Goose take over your home screen.

The Untitled Goose Game PS4 theme features the Goose sitting on top of a pile of stolen items, and you’ll hear the sound of birds chirping. The Goose can be seen when you scroll up to look at various settings; however, when you least expect it, the Goose will dart across your screen like the hooligan he is.

If you never picked up the game on Nintendo Switch, you can currently snag it with a launch discount of $15 on PS4 (down from $20). This deal is only available through January 2.

Xbox One owners also have access to Untitled Goose Game starting today. The same $15 launch discount is available on Xbox One, although please note Untitled Goose Game was added to Xbox Game Pass today as well. (There’s also a fantastic discount on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate right now if you need to extend your membership.)

The puzzle game earned a solid 8/10 in GameSpot’s Untitled Goose Game review. “The important thing is that Untitled Goose Game is a hoot,” wrote critic James O’Connor. “It’s a comedy game that focuses on making the act of playing it funny, rather than simply being a game that features jokes. Wishing that it was longer speaks to how much fun I had with it. There’s nothing else quite like Untitled Goose Game; it’s charming and cute despite being mean, and both very silly and very clever. It’s also probably the best non-racing game ever to feature a dedicated ‘honk’ button.”

Destiny 2: The Dawning Recipes For 2019’s Cookies

For 2019, Bungie has brought back Destiny 2‘s annual holiday event: The Dawning. Those wanting immediate gratification are in luck, as you can head to Eververse and buy a ton of items right away or complete a simple quest to get the new submachine gun. But the core of the event revolves around Eva’s Holiday Oven 2.0, a revamped version of the oven from last year that allows you to combine special items to bake various treats. But with three slots to insert items into and a lot of different possible outcomes, you’re likely wondering what The Dawning’s baking recipes are–so we’ve put together a list of all of the ones we’re aware of so far.

Ingredients are obtained in a variety of ways, largely just by playing the game and killing enemies. Essence of Dawning is a recurring item you’ll need for all recipes, and while that can be gotten from completing activities, another reliable source of this is the weekly bounties that Eva offers. Assuming things work the same as last year, here’s how to specifically gather up ingredients:

  • Delicious Explosion: Explosive kills
  • Sharp Flavor: Sword kills
  • Impossible Heat: Solar kills
  • Electric Taste: Arc kills
  • Null Taste: Void kills
  • Flash of Inspiration: Create Orbs of Light
  • Personal Touch: Melee kills
  • Perfect Taste: Precision kills
  • Bullet Spray: SMG and Machine Gun kills
  • Essence of Dawning: Complete activities in the solar system

Many recipes return from last year, but there are new ones as well, so expect us to continue updating this as we’re able to confirm more. For now, we’ve assembled all the ones we know–including Vanilla Blades for Shaxx, Chocolate Ship Cookies for Amanda, and Eliksni Birdseed for Hawthorne, all part of the Cheer Up quest–with the help of Today In Destiny.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Gets New Content This Week

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launched its Season One content on PC, PS4, and Xbox One recently, but part of that live game plan includes regular content drops throughout the season as well. That will be the case with this week’s “Season One Refresh,” which will include a new game mode, operator, maps, and Spec Ops missions. Plus you can claim a little bonus for logging in.

The refresh includes the Cranked game mode, a Deathmatch variant that has you racing to get kills. You can also try the new Spec Ops missions Operation Strong Box, Classic Special Ops Disinform, and Classic Special Ops Bomb Squad. The new operator Nikto will be available in a new operator bundle that includes the character along with a watch, weapon blueprints, and customization items. The Docks map will also get a holiday-themed reskin called Over Winter.

Finally, if you log in on December 18 after 10 AM PT, you can get a free gift pack in the “Just For You” section of the store. From December 20 at 10 AM PT to December 23 at 10 AM PT, you can score double weapon XP.

Other content drops are still planned for throughout the rest of the season. This is part of Infinity War’s live game plan for Modern Warfare, having announced before release that it would no longer use map packs that splinter the player base. The seasons do come with Battle Passes that earn you some cosmetic items, but all maps and game-changing additions like new weapons or equipment are free for all players.

Dead or Alive 6 Core Fighters Is Free For PS4, Xbox One Right Now

Dead or Alive 6‘s free-to-play version, Core Fighters, has a sweet little treat for those who download the free bundle package. The Core Fighters bundle comes with series mainstay and Ninja Gaiden protagonist, Ryu Hayabusa, for no extra charge.

The Core Fighters bundle is downloadable for free on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You only need an active PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold membership to install the game. Doing so nets you Ryu Hayabusa’s character license for free, a DLC add-on that typically ranges from $3 USD to $8 USD depending on the character.

Dead or Alive 6: Core Fighters is the instant-access version of the game. With Core Fighters, you can play as familiar combatants like Hitomi and Kasumi, get access to most of the stages and game modes, and more. Other features, like story mode and additional characters, can be purchased separately on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

We gave the fighting game a 7/10 in our Dead or Alive 6 review, saying, “Despite some missteps, DoA6 is a fun, engaging fighter with great-feeling, easy-to-pick-up combat, a strong sense of visual style, and a lot of personality. If you’re looking for a new fighting game to learn the ins and outs of–or perhaps a nice entry into the 3D side of fighting games–DoA6 is a fighter of choice.”

PlayStation Now Adds Three More Games In January

The subscription service PlayStation Now is getting another set of big games in January, including some notable first-party games. They’ll only be available for a limited time, but if you’re a subscriber you can grab them starting on January 2.

The month’s offerings include Horizon Zero Dawn, with the Frozen Wilds expansion and other bonus content included, along with Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Those two games will be available through April 7, 2020, and you have the option to download or stream them. The service will also add Overcooked 2, though that game doesn’t have a set expiration date.

Meanwhile, you can also still grab the games that became available in December: PUBG, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, and Formula 1 2019. Those are all available until March 2, 2020. Persona 5 and Middle-Earth: Shadow of War will be available through February 3, 2020. God of War (2018), Infamous: Second Son, Grand Theft Auto V, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End are available for now, but will be removed on January 2.

Sony recently cut the monthly subscription price of PlayStation Now from $20 / £13 to $10 / £9, and at the same time announced it would be rotating in some big games for a limited time. This all appears aimed at competing more directly with Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service, which offers its own subscription lineup of games and has committed to releasing first-party titles on their wide release dates.
