Black Friday 2019: Nintendo Switch (New Model) Discounted To $250

If you’ve had your eyes on the Nintendo Switch this Black Friday, we’d understand if you are disappointed with the official Nintendo bundle. A repeat from last year, the bundle includes Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and the launch model Switch for $300. To put it plainly, it’s underwhelming. This is especially true when you consider that Nintendo released a new Switch model with better battery life a couple of months ago.

Luckily, there is a great deal on the new model Nintendo Switch at Rakuten. On Thanksgiving Day, Rakuten is discounting the Switch from $300 to $250. To get the discount, you have to use promo code THANKS20 when checking out. Unfortunately, it’s currently sold out, but it’s worth it to come back throughout the Black Friday weekend to see if it comes back.

Nintendo Switch (new model) — $250

Nintendo Switch (new model) | $250 ($300)

The new model offers 4.5 to 9 hours of battery life as opposed to the launch model’s 2.5 to 6.5 range. If you have the choice between this and the official Nintendo bundle, you should absolutely pick the new model. And hey, if you really want to buy Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as well, it’s available for $50 at Amazon.

This Rakuten deal is the only straight-up discount we’ve seen on the Nintendo Switch this Black Friday. Google Shopping has a bundle that includes the console, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, and a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online family subscription for $296 ($375 value).

When it comes to the Nintendo Switch Lite, there are a few deals as well. Google Shopping has the Switch Lite for $175 right now, which is $25 off. Meanwhile, Ebay has Switch Lite bundles that include Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield for $230 ($260 value).

Black Friday 2019 Origin PC Deals: Sims 4 For $5, Need For Speed Heat For $40

Retailers are quickly rolling out Black Friday sales, and whether you’re in the market for games, hardware, or accessories., there are a whole lot of discounts to choose from. If you’re in the market for some PC games, Electronic Arts’ Origin online portal is already running its sale, featuring some deep discounts from EA’s catalog–as well as on some non-EA games, too.

Origin’s Black Friday sale runs until December 3 and sees cuts on digital PC game prices as deep as 85%. Though the latest entry into the Star Wars game pantheon, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, isn’t on sale, you can still get a Star Wars fix with Battlefront 2 at $16–a 60% savings.

Among the most notable discounts right now is on Need For Speed Heat. It’s already down to $40 from the usual price of $60, despite only being released on November 8. GameSpot gave Heat a 7 out of 10, with reviewer Richard Wakeling writing, “With only a select few events, no discernible difference between each car’s handling, and a simplistic driving model, Need for Speed Heat does stumble into repetition during its final few hours. It’s not quite a rip-roaring return to form, then, but this latest entry puts the Need for Speed series back on the right track. …Need for Speed Heat may not revolutionize racing games, but it’s the best the series has been in a long, long time.”

A few other titles released this year are also seeing their prices cut down. You can snag Madden 20 for $36 (40% off), FIFA 20 for $30, (a savings of 50%), and Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville for $30 (a 25% cut). There’s also BioWare’s live service game Anthem, which is down to $18 for its Standard Edition and $24 for its Deluxe Edition (previously $60 and $80, respectively). If you’re a subscriber to EA’s Origin Access subscription service, you get an additional 10% off Black Friday deals, as well.

Check out a list of the most notable discounts below. We’ve also got a ton more deals on our Black Friday hub, with more coverage coming as we near Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Black Friday 2019 Blizzard Deals: Diablo 3, CoD Modern Warfare, And Overwatch On Sale

Blizzard Entertainment has joined the Black Friday 2019 fray, bringing a slate of deals on its most popular games with a sale that lasts until December 2. In a blog post, the developer detailed all the deals you can get right now through its official online store. This sale currently focuses on Blizzard’s catalog of PC games on Battle.net, which includes Overwatch, Diablo III, and StarCraft 2, along with non-Blizzard games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and the more recent Modern Warfare.

In addition to deals on games, Blizzard also has a sale on its merchandise site, the Blizzard Gear Store. Right now, you can find Overwatch Funko figures and other Blizzard-themed shirts, beanies, and hoodies on sale. Along with the site-wide discount, you can also use the promo code EXPLORE, saving 25% off on purchases over $75. But of course, the real savings here are the variety of games in this Black Friday 2019 sale.

There’s a lot on display, so here’s a quick rundown of all the key games to find in this sale. On the official Blizzard site, you can find many more deals on other games including Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm, and a discount on BlizzCon’s 2019 Virtual Ticket as well, which can net you bonus items for different Blizzard games.

Diablo 3 (PC) Deals

The legendary loot-driven action-RPG series is having a bit of a renaissance following the reveal of Diablo IV at BlizzCon 2019. With a lot more interest in the series now, Blizzard has given Diablo 3 on PC a significant discount. In addition to the base game and its Reaper of Souls expansion, you can also net the complete Diablo 3 experience on sale at a significantly lower price. The Battle Chest edition is the base game and the Reaper of Souls expansion, but if you want to own the complete Diablo 3 experience–including the Necromancer add-on and some bonus gear for your classes–then you’ll want to get the Eternal Collection.

Overwatch (PC, PS4, and Xbox One) Deals

Right now, you can play Overwatch for free on PC, PS4, and Xbox One until December 4. But if you want to keep playing for the long-term on PC and consoles, then check out Blizzard’s sale on both the standard and legendary editions of the game. While both versions feature the same content, the Legendary edition will net you additional credits to spend in-game, along with more cosmetics for the roster of heroes.

StarCraft Deals

The StarCraft series has been a significant force within the esports scene for much of its lifespan, and it’s still going strong to this day. While the base StarCraft II game has since become free-to-play, the campaign expansions are paid standalone releases, which you can now get at a substantial discount. But if you’re looking to take a trip back to the early days of StarCraft, then you can also check out the sale on the recent remaster of the original game, which includes the Cartooned content update, which replaces all the visuals with heavily stylized visuals.

World of Warcraft Deals

For those who have had their eye on World of Warcraft, the Complete Collection might be your best way into the online universe. On sale now, the Complete Collection packages everything together in one neat bundle. In addition to the base World of Warcraft and its previous expansions, the collection also includes the current Battle of Azeroth expansion and a pre-purchase of the recently revealed Shadowlands. All current subscribers also get access to WoW Classic, allowing them to relive the MMO’s early years.

Call Of Duty (PC) Deals

While Battle.net is mostly populated with Blizzard games, other Activision games have also made it into the digital marketplace, such as the Call of Duty series. During Blizzard’s Black Friday 2019 sale, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Modern Warfare are discounted.

Steam Black Friday Discounts For Red Dead 2, Outer Worlds, GTA 5, And More

Black Friday 2019 deals continue to roll out. Steam’s Black Friday sale is underway, but that doesn’t mean it has the best prices; oftentimes, the best deals on PC games for Steam come from elsewhere. Case in point, digital games store Fanatical has jumped into the Black Friday fray, offering more savings on the year’s hottest games, a number of which are redeemable on Steam. The Fanatical Black Friday sale continues until November 29 and offers a variety of unique deals on well-known games, including Red Dead Redemption 2 and Borderlands 3, while also showing off some of the more obscure and overlooked games from recent years.

What sets Fanatical’s online sale apart from others are the unique flash sales happening every 24 hours. Every day of the week-long sale will cycle in a new set of games that can be purchased at a more significant discount than usual. In addition to the flash sales, other games on sale include Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Superhot VR, NBA 2K20, and Civilization VI. Even more recent games are discounted as well; in addition to the aforementioned RDR2, The Outer Worlds can be had for less than $45.

Like other digital distribution sites, Fanatical will send you a code for each purchase, which will need to be redeemed at their respective gaming clients. As an example, Red Dead Redemption 2 can be played on the Rockstar Games Launcher, while Borderlands 3 is playable on the Epic Games Store client.

In addition to these deals, Fanatical is also offering further discounts with the use of promo codes. On Fanatical’s front page, you’ll find a special promo code BLACK10 for up to 10% off with any purchase. However, you can also use our exclusive promo code, GAMESPOT11, which will give you 11% off your entire haul. (Unfortunately, you can only use one promo code at a time, so stacking multiple ones will not work. It also can’t be used on pre-orders or Red Dead Redemption 2.)

There are several other big games included in this sale, one of which is Borderlands 3. Released in September, the game was largely well-received, offering a pretty satisfying return to the Borderlands universe. In GameSpot’s Borderlands 3 review, editor Jordan Ramée wrote, “The game’s character-driven narrative acts as a satisfying finale for the loot-shooter franchise, and the new mechanics and features–especially the reworked skill trees and weapon manufacturer effects–give you plenty of agency in how you want to play through it.”

Black Friday 2019 PC Deals: $36 For Sekiro, Outer Worlds For $40, At Green Man Gaming

Black Friday 2019 has begun, and Green Man Gaming opened the floodgates to offer deals on a variety of games–including Borderlands 3, The Outer Worlds, and even Red Dead Redemption 2. As a part of its extended sale, the digital games retailer currently has well over 40 games up for sale right now, including Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, and Mortal Kombat 11.

This sale features some recent releases, along with other games that have come out in the last few years. In addition to the games mentioned above, GMG’s sale also includes Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Grand Theft Auto V, Tropico 6, and Civilization VI.

What’s special about GMG’s Black Friday sale is that certain purchases will also add in the Intel Starter Pack, allowing you to redeem an additional five free games from a select pool of titles. Some of these games include Resident Evil 7, Evil Within 2, Dishonored 2. The GMG sale also includes some great deals on gaming memberships and premium services. Any game purchased on Green Man Gaming can be redeemed on their respective digital distribution service. For instance, purchasing The Outer Worlds will give you a code that can be redeemed on the Epic Games Store, while Red Dead 2 will be playable on the Rockstar Games Launcher.

This sale doesn’t just focus on PC games, it also includes deals on gaming memberships to premium services. Notably, a 12-month PlayStation Plus membership is available for just $42.74, which is better than Sony’s official PS Plus offer for Black Friday ($45). So if you’re looking to top off your membership or try out a brand new service, then now is a pretty good time to dive in.

The biggest game on this sale is easily Red Dead Redemption 2, which recently came out on PC. GameSpot editor Michael Higham recently did a deep-dive into the PC version, and he was quite impressed with how it turned out. “Red Dead Redemption 2 is a case where its visual prowess is inseparable from its identity, which the PC version delivers on, given the right specs and the overcoming of technical issues,” he wrote.

Black Friday 2019 Epic PC Game Deals: $48 For Red Dead 2, The Outer Worlds For $45

Black Friday is here, and like the rest of the holiday gift-giving season, it continues to expand beyond the Friday after Thanksgiving. That means there are more sales and more savings on a ton of games and accessories. A big sale has started on the Epic Games Store, offering you a chance to save a lot on digital PC game downloads.

Epic’s Black Friday sale runs from now until December 2, and sees some cuts as high as 75% off. The gamut of games is fairly extensive, encompassing older releases as well as a few newer titles. The newly released Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version is on the list, seeing its price knocked down to $48 (from $60)–although it’s cheaper from Green Man Gaming at $44.15. There are a few other fresh games as well, including The Outer Worlds ($45, down from $60) and Borderlands 3 ($40, down from $60). Ghost Recon: Wildlands is half off at $30.

There are also a few smaller new games available for cheap, including Afterparty for $17 (usually $20) and Kine for $18 (down from $20); both were released in October. And of course, some of the best discounts are for games that have been out for a while. The Epic Games Store has a big chunk of the Ubisoft catalogue on sale, with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey at $27 (from $60) and The Division 2 at $15 (from $60). And if you’ve been itching to play Alan Wake to see its ties with Remedy Entertainment’s latest, Control, you can snag that for just $3 (regularly $15).

Check out the full rundown of all the sales below, and stay tuned to GameSpot for all our Black Friday coverage.
