Gris, A Soulful Indie Platformer, Hits PS4 This Week

Gris, which first launched on PC and Switch back in December 2018 and came to iOS earlier this year, is getting a surprise release on PlayStation on November 26 (or November 27, depending on your time zone). The impending release was announced on the PlayStation Blog, where programmer Roger Mendoza detailed what is different about Gris on PS4. Essentially, it’ll be the same game but with higher quality assets.

The team at Nomada Studio wanted to create “the absolute best version of Gris possible,” and to that end the art team went over the game again to prepare it for 4K displays. According to the post, the art team has “revamped over five thousand unique assets”, increasing the resolution by up to four times. This resolution bump will be possible for anyone playing the game on a PS4 Pro. The game’s score will also be less compressed for the PS4 version of the game.

This version of the game will also receive a physical release from Limited Run Games. The boxed copy costs $30, and pre-orders are open for the next five weeks. It comes with three reversible art cards and interior case art.

Gris received a 9/10 in our review of it, with Tom Mc Shea writing that Gris “understands intrinsically how magical video games can be and continually pushes your imagination until you’re almost bursting with joy.” Earlier this month, the game made headlines after a wellness app was found to have plagarized artwork from it.

Top New Game Releases On Switch, PS4, And Xbox One This Week — November 24-30, 2019

November is wrapping up, but Thanksgiving is still to come in the States. Nintendo Switch owners can be extra grateful this week, as the handheld console is getting ports of the infamous Five Nights at Freddy’s series, Zelda-like adventure Decay of Logos, and survival game Pine. PS4 and Xbox One gamers can get their hands on The Escapists Double Pack, which includes The Escapists 1 and 2. Indie darling Where The Water Tastes Like Wine is also getting console ports this week. Sorry, PC gamers–things will pick up for you in December!

Pine — November 26

Available on: Switch

No Caption Provided

Pine is a survival game set in a world where humans are not at the top of the food chain. To protect your tribe, you’ll have to craft weapons, trade goods, and befriend or betray other animal races as you journey to safety. Your actions have an effect on the world’s ecology too.

The Escapists Double Pack — November 26

Available on: PS4, Xbox One

No Caption Provided

Both of The Escapists titles give you the same task: escape from prison. Doing so requires a combination of planning, crafting, sneaking, and working together with your fellow inmates. The second game lets you do all that with friends in co-op, too. It also goes beyond earthly prisons, asking you to escape your cell in crazy locations like a moving desert train, a snowy mountain, and even outer space.

Decay of Logos — November 26

Available on: Switch

No Caption Provided

Taking cues from The Legend of Zelda series, Decay of Logos is full of dungeons to explore, puzzles to solve, and a variety of weapons and magic to try out in combat. As you journey to fight the Crimson Knights, you’ll ride atop your elk companion. The more you learn about the world, the stronger the bond with your elk will grow.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 1-4 — November 29

Available on: Switch

No Caption Provided

The Five Nights at Freddy’s games are pretty ubiquitous at this point, but here’s the elevator pitch: terrifying, malfunctioning animatronic mascots are out to get you. Thing is, they can’t move if you’re watching them. You’ll have to juggle security cameras and lock the doors if you hope to survive the night.

Where The Water Tastes Like Wine — November 29

Available on: Xbox One, Switch

Where The Water Tastes Like Wine is set in the United States during the Great Depression. As you travel around the country, you’ll encounter a cast of intriguing characters–though not all of them are even human. Each has a story to tell, and the more you talk to them, the more they’ll open up to you about their history.

Pokemon Sword & Shield Has A New Kind Of Shiny Pokemon

Pokemon Sword & Shield have not been out for long, but already dedicated players are starting to build up a full Pokedex and are hunting for rarer shiny Pokemon. As it turns out, there are actually two versions of each “shiny” Pokemon in these games–the regular shiny Pokemon that sparkle with stars when you encounter them or send them into battle, and a variant that sparkles with squares when you find them.

As Polygon has reported, several players have reported spotting and catching these unique shiny Pokemon. One fan on Twitter has gone viral with footage of themselves encountering a shiny square Wooloo the very first time they enter long grass.

The Pokemon community has been trying to figure out the distinction between the two different kinds of shiny critters, and why some have squares instead of stars. Initially, it seemed like square shiny Pokemon were much rarer, yet it seems as though a lot of people are finding and catching them compared to “traditional” shiny monsters; further digging is starting to suggest that there’s a reason for that.

The simple version seems to be that squares are theoretically rarer, but are much more common if you are using certain methods to purposefully seek out shiny Pokemon rather than just stumbling across them. The community is continuing to dig into this, so there might be more specific details coming out down the track.

Meanwhile, the official Pokemon website has posted some insight into how to increase your odds of catching shiny Pokemon. The more of a single Pokemon you fight, the better your chances of eventually finding a shiny, increasing from the set odds of 1:4096. You can also encounter “Brilliant” Pokemon, which shows an aura of light when you encounter them in the grass, and rewards you with watts after you defeat or capture it.

Battling a Pokemon once allows Brilliant versions to appear, and the odds of finding Brilliant Pokemon increase again after 20, 40, and 100 battles. They increase dramatically for shiny Pokemon as well–after 50 battles your odds double, after 100 they triple, and then at 200, 300, and 500 battles your odds multiply by 4, 5, and 6. Of course, the rarer a Pokemon is, the harder it will be to find a shiny version (although our guide to rare Pokemon should prove useful.)

Pokemon Sword & Shield received a 9/10 in our review. Kallie Plagge wrote that “in collecting, battling, and exploring, Sword and Shield cut out the bloat and focus on what makes these pillars of the Pokemon games so captivating in the first place.”

The Facebook-owned Oculus has announced a new Oculus Quest Black Friday, as well as Oculus Go, Portal camera, and Oculus Rift S deals. After Valve announced Half-Life: Alyx (a new, VR-only game in the series set between Half-Life and Half-Life 2) is compatible with the Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift S headsets, you might be more tempted to pick one up, which makes the timing of these minor deals fortuitous.

You’ll need to activate your Oculus Quest within 30 days of your purchase to get Vader Immortal for free, with March 2 being the last possible day to redeem the offer.

While the Quest doesn’t receive a special price, Oculus is discounting the rest of its VR headsets for Black Friday. Starting November 28 until December 2, the Oculus Rift S and both versions of the Oculus Go will be discounted by $50.

Facebook also plans to discount its Portal devices, which are touchscreen displays that let you video call your friends and family, display photos, and control your smart home with built-in Alexa support, in addition to a lot more. Why A Grand Theft Auto Movie Is Unlikely To Happen

Grand Theft Auto is one of the most popular and successful video game franchises ever, but to date, no movie based on the series has been made. In a new interview with TheWrap, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick said one of the reasons why is because the company doesn’t want to hand creative control to a different company.

If a GTA movie were to happen, Take-Two would want to fund it itself to have control, Zelnick said. The company has the money to do this, but its expertise is video games, not movies.

“Part of it is, if we were to do something like that, we’d want to have complete creative control to make sure we expressed [GTA] in the way we wanted–and that would mean we’d need to finance that motion picture,” Zelnick said. “While we have the balance sheet to do it, we don’t have the corporate expertise to do it, because only a handful of people inside Take-Two have ever worked in that business. I’m one of them. But that’s not what we do for a living.”

Zelnick previously served as the president and chief operating officer of 20th Century Fox where he oversaw production and distribution of numerous movies. He was only 32 years old when he was running Fox’s film business.

Also in the interview, Zelnick said GTA is the “most valuable intellectual property ever created by mankind.” Owning and controlling the franchise and its future direction is very important to Take-Two, which is why Take-Two doesn’t want to let an outside company make a movie.

“Are we really going to let go of that and hope that someone–no matter how talented they are–will do a really good job with it?” Zelnick said.

The interviewer suggested that Take-Two is missing out on money by refusing to make a GTA movie, adding that George R.R. Martin struck a lucrative deal with HBO for Game of Thrones. That might have been a smart business move, but Zelnick pointed out, “George Martin’s books are not worth what Grand Theft Auto is worth.”

Zelick is saying almost exactly what Take-Two president Karl Slatoff said back in 2013. At the time, Slatoff said a movie based on GTA could make a lot of money, but it might be a bad idea in the long run.

Film and TV executives have approached Take-Two over the years about making a GTA movie, but the company has always said no–and that doesn’t appear to be changing soon.

Rockstar Games cofounder Dan Houser said in 2011 that Rockstar has “explored” numerous Grand Theft Auto movie deals, but has yet to be convinced to bring the series to the big-screen.

In 2017, Zelnick told MCVUK that Take-Two would consider allowing outside studios to make movies based on its franchises, but only if Take-Two could have some kind of creative control. “We have licensed a couple of titles for motion picture production and we don’t have much more to say about that yet,” Zelnick said at the time.

The newest GTA game, 2013’s GTA V, has shipped more than 115 million copies. That makes it among the most successful video games in history. By comparison, Wii Sports–which was bundled with the Wii–has sold 82.88 million copies.

A movie based on BioShock, which is developed by Take-Two’s 2K label, was in the works with multiple different directors but series creator Ken Levine ultimately killed it.

A Max Payne movie starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis was released in 2008. The movie didn’t score well with critics, but it opened to No. 1 and it ended up making $85 million against a reported $35 million budget. Take-Two bought the Max Payne series from Remedy in 2002 for $34 million, but the situation surrounding the deal to make this movie are unclear.

Movies based on video games have a history of being mediocre or worse, and that comes down to a number of factors. Still, they continue to be made. There are currently movies based on Uncharted, Sonic the Hedgehog, Call of Duty, Watch Dogs, The Last of Us, Metal Gear Solid, Mario, and Monster Hunter in various stages of production.

PSVR bundle with Blood & Truth and Everbody’s Golf – $250

PlayStation VR bundle with Blood & Truth, Everybody’s Golf VR | $250 ($350)

PlayStation Gold Wireless Headset with Fortnite content – $70

Fortnite Neo Versa Bundle With PlayStation Gold Wireless Headset | $70 ($100)

This is fairly self-explanatory, but from November 24-27, GameStop stores will let you fill a bag with as many collectibles and apparel as you can and get 25% off the entire bag (which you have to buy on its own for $5). Games and hardware are excluded as well as clearance items.

Black Friday deals starting Nov. 27 at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET online:

Nintendo Switch with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and $25 gift coupon – $300

Nintendo Switch (older model) with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, $25 gift coupon | $300

*Only available on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday

GameStop is offering the same Nintendo Switch bundle every other store is because it’s Nintendo’s official console offer this year–just as it was in 2018. While an appealing offer last year, this bundle isn’t quite as impressive in 2019 because a new, improved Switch has since released and has longer battery life. This bundle gets you the older model and a digital copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which commonly goes for around $50 these days. It’s not a bad deal if you love Mario Kart, but just be aware that you’re getting the launch model Switch. That said, GameStop is throwing in a $25 gift coupon to sweeten the deal, so if you love Mario Kart, this is the offer you’d want to take advantage of.

Nintendo Switch Lite with $25 gift coupon – $200

Nintendo Switch Lite (multiple colors) with $25 gift coupon | $200

*Only available on November 30 and December 1

HTC Vive Pro VR starter kit – $800

HTC Vive Pro VR Starter Kit | $800 ($1,100)

With the announcement of Half-Life: Alyx, some people may be persuaded to finally pick up a VR headset this holiday season, and luckily, the HTC Vive Pro will be cheaper at GameStop for Black Friday. Normally sold for $1,100, you’ll find the HTC Vive Pro Starter Kit–which includes the headset, two SteamVR base stations, and two Vive controllers–for $800. Alternatively, the headset by itself will be on sale for just $600 (normally $800).

HTC Vive Cosmo VR headset – $600

HTC Vive Cosmo VR System | $600 ($700)

The HTC Vive Cosmos will be $100 off for Black Friday. It includes six tracking cameras, Steam and Viveport library access, 12 months of Viveport Infinity (with access to more than 700 games and apps), and more.

Black Friday 2019 Flash Sale: Borderlands 3 And Red Dead 2 PC Deals Live Now

Just as more early Black Friday 2019 deals are rolling out, the digital marketplace Fanatical has also jumped into the fray offering more savings on the year’s hottest games. Lasting until November 29, the Fanatical Black Friday sale will offer up a variety of unique deals on well-known games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Borderlands 3, while also showing off some of the more obscure and overlooked games from recent years.

What sets Fanatical’s online sale apart from others are the unique flash sales happening every 24 hours. Every day of the week-long sale will cycle in a new set of games that can be purchased at a more significant discount than usual. In addition to the flash sales, other games on sale include Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Superhot VR, NBA 2K20, and Civilization VI. Like other digital distribution sites, Fanatical will send you a code for each purchase, which will need to be redeemed at their respective gaming clients. As an example, Red Dead Redemption 2 can be played on the Rockstar Games Launcher, while Borderlands 3 is playable on the Epic Games Store client.

The Fanatical Black Friday deals (so far):

In addition to these deals, Fanatical is also offering further discounts with the use of promo codes. On Fanatical’s front page, you’ll find a special promo code BLACK10 for up to 10% off with any purchase. Along with that, another promo code you can use is GAMESPOT11, which will give you an 11% discount on your overall haul. However, you can only use one promo code at a time, so stacking multiple ones will not work.

There are several big games included in this sale, one of which is Borderlands 3. Released in September, the game was largely well-received, offering a pretty satisfying return to the Borderlands universe. In GameSpot’s Borderlands 3 review, editor Jordan Ramée described the game’s strengths, stating; “The game’s character-driven narrative acts as a satisfying finale for the loot-shooter franchise, and the new mechanics and features–especially the reworked skill trees and weapon manufacturer effects–give you plenty of agency in how you want to play through it.”

Pokemon Sword & Shield Max Raid Guide

Pokemon Sword and Shield mark the eighth generation of Pokemon games, and they of course introduce new features and Pokemon to the series. One of the biggest additions is the Wild Area, an open-world stretch of land in which you and wild Pokemon can roam freely. It covers the space between the bottom part of the map and Motostoke and then extends up along the eastern side of Motostoke to Hammerlocke. This space is home to a wide variety of Pokemon that come and go with the weather, and you’ll even encounter Pokemon so powerful that you won’t be able to fight them at first.

On top of that, the Wild Area is also home to the new Max Raids. These 4v1 battles pit you and three other players (or NPCs) against one Dynamaxed Pokemon, which is both enormous and extra powerful. They start out easy, but make no mistake–the high-level raids can be intensely challenging. Here’s everything you need to know about Max Raids.

Playing Online

First things first–you can do raids solo with NPCs, but it’s a lot easier with at least one other real person. By pressing Y and going to the social screen, you can connect to the internet and interact with other people online. From this screen, you can join other people’s raids provided they’re seeking help and there’s still room. In order to invite others to your raid, you have to initiate a raid from a den and select “invite others,” and other players can join both locally and online.

Max Raid Basics

Raid Pokemon are separate from the powerful Pokemon you see walking around. You have to go up to a raid den to start a raid–you’ll know a Pokemon is inside if there’s a red or pinkish-purple beam of light shooting out of it. When you interact with the den, you’ll see a screen showing the silhouette of the raid Pokemon and its type so you can prepare. Max Raids vary in challenge from one star to five stars, which will be indicated on this screen as well.

In a Max Raid, four players fight one Dynamaxed (or Gigantamaxed) Pokemon. By virtue of being Dynamaxed, these Pokemon get boosts to their moves and stats, and they will often move twice in a row or put up shields. If you defeat the raid Pokemon, you get a chance to catch it. You can decide whether you want to do the raid solo (with three NPCs) or search for other players locally or online; each person only brings one Pokemon. The battle is over when 10 turns go by or Pokemon faint four times–a fainted Pokemon will automatically be revived after a turn, so it could be any combination of Pokemon fainting, even if it’s the same Pokemon fainting multiple times.

One Pokemon on your side is allowed to Dynamax during the raid. The player who initiated the raid has the opportunity to Dynamax first, but if they don’t, the Dynamax power moves to the next person on the list (including NPCs) until someone uses it. While the raid Pokemon will be Dynamaxed the whole time, the Pokemon on your side will only remain Dynamaxed for three turns as normal.

If you defeat the Pokemon, you have a chance to catch it. If you defeat it and fail to catch it due to bad luck, the Pokemon will be gone (though you still get all the other rewards, like berries and TRs); if you simply lose, you can try again from the same raid den. You can use a Wishing Piece, which you can find or buy from various Wild Area vendors using Watts, to trigger a raid even if the den is currently empty, though it may not even be the same species of Pokemon.

Max Raid Battle Tips

Max Raid battles themselves work mostly like normal battles. Each of the five Pokemon on the field will move according to their speed stat, though the raid Pokemon gets to cheat and use moves multiple times in a turn. After it’s been damaged a bit, the raid Pokemon will put up a shield, which can take anywhere from two to six hits to break down; this shield blocks it from most damage and all status effects. A Max move from a Dynamaxed Pokemon on your side will take down two shield slots, though moves that hit multiple times, like Fury Swipes or Double Kick, will only break one shield slot.

The raid Pokemon will occasionally nullify all stat changes on your side of the field, so powerup moves like Dragon Dance aren’t recommended. Instead, super-effective attacks are your best bet, as strong ones will usually cause a bit of damage even through a shield. Breaking a shield will damage the Pokemon and lower its defenses, too, so you’ll want to prioritize breaking the shield with standard attacks rather than using something like Helping Hand to power up an ally’s moves.

You’re also better off using a move with middling damage over an all-out move that causes damage to the user, like Wild Charge. Staying alive is paramount, as four faints will get you tossed out of the raid den, so moves that heal allies, like Life Dew, can be helpful too–you can only use items from your bag to heal your own Pokemon.

For especially tough raids, you should also take into account the raid Pokemon’s stats–Turtonator, for example, has extremely high defense but much lower special defense (on average), so using special attacks can make all the difference.

Wishing Pieces And Triggering More Raids

Only a few dens in the Wild Area will be “active” at a time. If you want to trigger a raid encounter at an inactive den, you can throw a Wishing Piece in it to instantly spawn a raid Pokemon. You can buy Wishing Pieces from various vendors around the Wild Area–see our guide on Watts and where to spend them for more details.

Each raid den has a set of Pokemon that can spawn there, and some only spawn during specific weather patterns. Wishing Pieces are useful for initiating a raid at a specific den, but if you just want more raids, you can also complete all the existing raids, at which point more will pop up throughout the Wild Area–and at least one should be a strong purple pillar of light, which signals a rare Pokemon.

Rare Pokemon, Gigantamax Forms, And Purple Beams Of Light

The Pokemon you catch in raids are much likelier to have perfect stats and hidden abilities, and the likelihood goes up as the difficulty of the raid goes up. Every five-star raid Pokemon I’ve caught has had several perfect stats, and the maximum I’ve seen is five out of six perfect stats from a raid. You might also see a strong purple pillar of light instead of the usual red one; that means the raid Pokemon there is more likely to be a rare spawn, and there are some rare Pokemon you can only find in raids.

At the five-star tier, you may also encounter Gigantamax Pokemon, which are individual Pokemon of select species that change forms when Dynamaxed. See our Gigantamax guide for more details on how to find these Pokemon.

Pokemon Sword & Shield Weather Guide: Symbols, Conditions, And More

One of the biggest new features in Pokemon Sword and Shield is the Wild Area, an open stretch of land that is home to all sorts of Pokemon and the new raids. If you’re looking to complete your Pokedex, it’s also where you’ll be spending a lot of your time; you can find evolved forms of Pokemon out in the open here, for example. But the kinds of Pokemon you can encounter vary with the weather, which in turn varies throughout the Wild Area and changes every day. To make the most of the Wild Area, there are several things you need to know about how weather works.

The Wild Area is broken up into different sections, which you can see on your map. The name of each zone will pop up as you enter it so you’re always clear on where you are; if you’re looking up a Pokemon’s habitat in the Pokedex and it can be found in the Wild Area, the Dex will display the name of the section and what weather conditions you can find that Pokemon in. Different Pokemon will show up in different sections.

The Pokemon you encounter throughout the Wild Area and in Max Raids change with the weather, and there are certain Pokemon you can find only in a specific type of weather. You can check the weather from anywhere at any time using your map.

The effects of weather on Pokemon spawns are mostly logical. Harsh sunlight brings out more Fire-types, rain brings Water-type Pokemon, and snow brings the Ice-types. Water-, Electric-, and Dragon-type Pokemon spawn during thunderstorms. Some types of weather aren’t available until you make progress in the story, such as fog, which isn’t available until after you become Champion.

Below is a list of the weather conditions and a description of the symbols that represent them in the map and Pokedex.

Wild Area Weather Conditions And Symbols

  • Regular sun — clear
  • Sun behind cloud — cloudy (no in-battle effect)
  • Raincloud — rain
  • Cloud with lightning bolt — thunderstorm (rain with electric terrain)
  • Snowflake — snow (hail)
  • Snowflakes with wind — snowstorm (hail)
  • Sun with bullseye center — harsh sunlight
  • Rocks with wind — sandstorm
  • Cloud with lines — fog (misty terrain)

In-Battle Weather Effects

Though there are many weather types in the Wild Area, there are only four possible types of weather conditions in battles. Weather can be activated by overworld conditions listed above, Pokemon’s regular moves and abilities, and the secondary effects of Max Moves used by Dynamaxed Pokemon. Weather conditions typically last five turns if different from the overworld weather, though certain items can extend the duration. Below is a list of the in-battle weather types and a summary of their main effects.

  • Harsh sunlight: increases damage from Fire-type moves and decreases damage from Water-type moves; Solar Beam charges instantly; Synthesis, Moonlight, and Morning Sun recover more health; all Pokemon are immune to freezing; activates certain abilities
  • Rain: increases damage from Water-type moves and decreases damage from Fire-type moves; Thunder and Hurricane hit consistently; weakens Solar Beam, Solar Blade, and light-based recovery moves; activates certain abilities
  • Hail: damages all Pokemon at the end of each turn (except Ice-types); enables Aurora Veil; Blizzard hits consistently; weakens Solar Beam, Solar Blade, and light-based recovery moves; activates certain abilities
  • Sandstorm: damages all Pokemon at the end of each turn (except Rock-, Steel-, and Ground-types); increases the special defense of Rock-type Pokemon; weakens Solar Beam, Solar Blade, and light-based recovery moves; activates certain abilities

Terrain Effects

Introduced in Sun and Moon, terrain is an additional in-battle effect that can occur alongside weather or on its own. Terrain can be activated by overworld conditions, Pokemon’s moves and abilities, and the secondary effects of Max Moves used by Dynamaxed Pokemon. Terrain typically lasts five turns if different from the overworld conditions, though certain items can extend the duration. Note that all terrain types exclusively affect Pokemon that are on the ground (so Flying-types and Pokemon with the Levitate ability are unaffected). Below is a list of each and their effects.

  • Electric: increases power of Electric-type moves used by Pokemon on the ground; Pokemon on the ground won’t fall asleep
  • Psychic: increases power of Psychic-type moves used by Pokemon on the ground; Pokemon on the ground can’t be hit by moves with increased priority
  • Misty: decreases damage taken from Dragon-type moves; Pokemon on the ground can’t be affected by paralysis, burn, poison, freezing, or sleep
  • Grassy: increases power of Grass-type moves used by Pokemon on the ground; heals all Pokemon on the ground a bit each turn; decreases damage from Earthquake, Bulldoze, and Magnitude

State Of Decay 2 Launches On Steam In 2020

Xbox Game Studios’ State of Decay 2 is finally making its way Steam. No concrete release date has been provided yet, but the game is expected to launch early next year on the platform.

The open-world zombie survival game, developed by Microsoft-owned Undead Labs, has received a plethora of DLC since its May 2018 launch on Xbox One. The latest, Heartland, came out during Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference and is billed as State of Decay 2’s biggest expansion yet. The game’s Steam store page currently makes no mention of whether this PC release will ship with all the game’s DLC.

It’s worth noting that State of Decay 2 and its Heartland expansion are available through Xbox Game Pass. The game also supports cross-play between Windows 10 PC and Xbox One, though it’s unclear if the feature will be supported when the game launches on Steam in early 2020.

In our State of Decay 2 review, we said, “State of Decay 2 settles into a rhythm that might be easy for you to pass some hours with, but it’s never a ride with genuine surprises, excitement or purpose. There’s promise in so many systems that it introduces, but they’re woefully underutilized to make space for repetitive activities that are nowhere near as exciting to engage with. State of Decay 2 feels like the lumbering enemies that populate its country mountains. Aimless, wandering, and just out of place.”
