Get Xbox One’s Game Pass Ultimate For 3 Months For $1

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is one heck of a subscription service, bundling Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One and PC as well as Xbox Live Gold for $15 USD a month. However, if you haven’t already subscribed, you can snag a pretty awesome deal right now that nets you your first three months for a single dollar.

Normally, Microsoft only offers this deal for your first month, not the first three. Three months of Game Pass Ultimate usually costs $45, so you’re saving quite a bit of money with this introductory offer. It’s unclear how long this deal will be available for, so if you’re interested, act sooner rather than later.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate grants you access to more than 200 games on Xbox One, over 150 games on PC, and the full benefits of Xbox Live Gold, which includes even more free monthly games and access to online multiplayer. On top of all that, new subscribers get six months of Spotify Premium as long as they’re also new subscribers to the music-streaming service.

New Red Dead 2 PC Update Coming Soon, Rockstar Apologizes For Issues

Rockstar has issued a statement on technical issues with its launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC. The studio said it is rolling out an update starting today to fix some technical issues, but more severe problems caused by conflicts between certain CPUs and Nvidia cards and drivers will take more time to resolve.

In the statement issued on Twitter, Rockstar says that persistent problems appear to be due to “unforeseen issues related to specific combinations of Nvidia graphics drivers, Nvidia GPU cards and certain CPUs.” To that end, it says it is working with Nvidia to resolve the issue in a future update, but it may take a few days to test the update fully and assure it addresses the problem.

“We sincerely apologize for this temporary inconvenience and will update you as soon as we have more information to share—we want everyone to be able to experience Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC as we intended as soon as possible,” the statement reads.

Some players found workarounds to these issues quickly, and Rockstar has been issuing patches through the game launcher and game itself. The problems appear to be persisting for some players, though, and that’s what Rockstar aims to fix. We found on the whole, Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC is a worthwhile port of GameSpot’s 2018 Game of the Year.

Bethesda Opens New Studio As Prey Dev Closes Its Doors

Bethesda has announced the closure of Human Head studios, alongside the opening of a new studio composed of some of its key staff members. The new developer is called Roundhouse Studios and will operate out of Madison, Wisconsin. Bethesda says it will immediately begin work on unannounced projects.

“Sadly, we had to wind down the business of Human Head Studios and close its doors, which was particularly devastating due to the passion and creativity of the team we’d assembled,” said Roundhouse creative director Chris Rhinehart, in the announcement. “We reached out to our friends at Bethesda for help, and they saw that same creativity and passion in our team. With the formation of Roundhouse Studios, Bethesda offered every employee of Human Head a position at the new company. We are excited our team will remain together, pursuing the work we love, as part of a company we already know and admire.”

Todd Vaughn, senior VP of development at Bethesda, said the company is “excited by the opportunity to bring under the Bethesda umbrella this talented, established development team.”

This announcement was made in conjunction with an update from Human Head announcing the closure. Rune 2, which recently launched on the Epic Games Store, will be its last game under that studio name.

“We want to thank all of you for your incredible support over the last 22 years,” the update reads. “Your passion and excitement for games is what has driven and motivated us for many, many years. We’re really excited for what the future holds for us and look forward to you joining us on this new adventure.”

Human Head was founded in 1997 and also operated out of Madison. It’s known for its work on Prey, BioShock Infinite, and The Quiet Man.
