Pokemon Go‘s Halloween event has ended, which means Darkrai is no longer available in Raids. Before Cobalion arrives next week, however, the Legendary Regi trio have returned to the game, but they’ll only be around for a limited time.
Until 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET on November 4, Regirock, Registeel, and Regice will appear in five-star Raid Battles around the world. Not only does this give you a new opportunity to add the Legendary Pokemon to your collection if you’ve previously missed them, you’ll also have your first chance to catch their Shiny forms.
In addition to the Regi trio’s return, you’ll be able to find Pokemon that have a type advantage over the Legendaries–such as Geodude, Magnemite, Swinub, Aron, and Spheal–more frequently in the wild, while Aerodactyl, Shuckle, Sneasel, Skarmory, Snorunt, and Beldum will hatch more often from eggs. Incubators will also be twice as effective throughout the weekend, allowing you to hatch eggs in half the time they normally require.
Later this month, the Legendary Regigigas will make its debut in EX Raids. If you can’t wait until then to catch it, Niantic is hosting a Special Research story event on November 2 called “A Colossal Discovery,” which will let you encounter the new Legendary early. However, until other Special Research questlines in the game, you need to purchase a virtual ticket to participate in the event.
Once the Regi trio leave the game again on November 4, they’ll be replaced by the aforementioned Cobalion, the first Gen 5 Pokemon to appear in Go. It will be available in five-star Raids until November 26. Meanwhile, Pokemon Go’s November Community Day is set for November 16. The featured Pokemon this month will be Chimchar, the Fire-type starter from Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.

Overwatch 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch. The sequel to Blizzard’s team-focused, hero-based first-person shooter was previously announced for Xbox One, PS4, and PC (specifically Battle.net) during the BlizzCon 2019 opening presentation. No release date has been announced.
In Overwatch 2, you’ll have access to both PvP and PvE content. Overwatch veterans will recognize what you’re able to do in PvP, though there is a new mode, Push, which sees teams try to get a robot to move into their opponent’s side of the map. Overwatch lead designer Jeff Kaplan described Push as a “core competitive game mode, so the mode will appear alongside the others in Quick Play and Competitive, and will also be played in the Overwatch League.
To ensure no one gets left behind, Overwatch players will be able to play in competitive PvP with Overwatch 2 players. “Current Overwatch players will battle side-by-side with Overwatch 2 players in PvP multiplayer; they’ll also be able to play Overwatch 2 heroes and maps,” he said. The official Overwatch 2 website says “Your accomplishments and loot collections will be carried forward to Overwatch 2. That means you’ll keep your skins, player icons, sprays, emotes, and more.”
The major change between Overwatch and Overwatch 2 is in the PvE. Overwatch 2 will have PvE Story and Hero modes. In Story mode, you play with friends on a predetermined team of heroes in scripted missions that will continue the narrative of Overwatch. Meanwhile, Hero mode puts your team into objective-based missions–all of which are designed to be repeated with friends to level up your characters and unlock new abilities.

Blizzard clarified that Overwatch will not receive a new Archives event this year during a panel at BlizzCon 2019.
Game director Jeff Kaplan said Blizzard isn’t adding a new event to the story-driven co-op Archives missions due to the team focusing on the newly-announced Overwatch 2. However, Kaplan confirmed that the team has no plans to abandon the existing game, saying there are still some “cool updates” coming and “new stuff” they want to add.
“We are still going to run the Archives event,” Kaplan said. “They will be new skins. There’s going to be new cosmetic content. There are also other awesome features coming to the live game that we think you should be excited about.”
Kaplan detailed an upcoming selection feature that will let you choose how to spend your time while queuing. You can go to the training room or participate in a new deathmatch mode specifically designed for waiting, or you can fire up Custom Game and/or Workshop and play “whatever the hell you want” in the future. Kaplan didn’t specify when this feature will get added to Overwatch.
Overwatch 2 was unveiled during BlizzCon 2019. Though there’s no official release date or window announced, Kaplan said the sequel will appear on “every single platform we support today.” The game will launch on Nintendo Switch, PC (via BattleNet), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

During BlizzCon 2019, Blizzard pulled back the curtain on Diablo 4 and detailed a bunch of new features about the action-RPG, such as the newly-implemented mounts.
Mounts are new to Diablo’s universe, fitting in-line with Blizzard’s description of a larger world for Diablo 4. Mounts can be used to travel faster between waypoints and in conjunction with class-specific dismount abilities. Further, you can customize your mount’s appearance, changing everything from saddles to armor to horseshoes. Altering your mount’s appearance also improves its abilities, like equipping armor that decreases the damage taken on a mount and more.
For them to feel grounded in Diablo 4’s world, Blizzard intends to include various kinds of mounts–from demon horses to faceless mounts and everything in between. And to give the mounts some flare, each class has specific dismount abilities tailored to their playstyle. The Sorceress, for example, sends out an ice storm that freezes everything in a straight line in front of her; while the Barbarian causes a ground slam AOE attack. Dismount abilities can be used to combo with other players.
Though revealed earlier today, Blizzard didn’t specify a release date or window for Diablo 4. The company did confirm that the latest installment to the beloved action-RPG franchise is now in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Alongside the announcement, Blizzard shared official Diablo 4 cinematic and gameplay trailers, showing off the new world and returning classes.

BlizzCon 2019 kicked off with its big opening presentation, and some major announcements for Blizzard games were made, including the confirmation of Overwatch 2. But with the original Overwatch being a live-service game that’s very much alive and kicking, you may have questions about what the sequel means for current players–here’s what we know so far.
Players of the original game will be able to play with Overwatch 2 players in the traditional PvP team-based mode. Game director Jeff Kaplan said, “with over 50 million players, the last thing we want to do is split the community.” The first Overwatch will also get all the updates to PvP which include new maps, the new competitive mode called Push, and upcoming heroes.
One of the next maps was confirmed to be Toronto, which is the first one set in Canada and has a lush metropolitan look with a statue of a hockey player (of course). Push will be a core competitive mode in the rotation where two teams push a robot across the map with barricades obstructing the path. And the next hero Sojourn will join the roster; she’s been involved with the story, but soon she’ll be playable. All this content will be made available for all Overwatch players.
If you’ve poured a ton of time and money into the original game and have cosmetics and progress you don’t want to let go of, but are considering making the move when the time comes, don’t worry. Kaplan confirmed that all your current cosmetics and progress will carry over into Overwatch 2. Blizzard is calling this a “shared multiplayer environment,” so “no one gets left behind.” Overwatch as a whole is getting a visual revamp with updated character designs as well.
If you don’t make the jump to Overwatch 2, you will miss out on a lot of new content outside of PvP, however. Overwatch 2 will feature Story Missions which focus on the series’ lore and narrative through PvE scenarios (Rio de Janeiro is the first one which is playable at BlizzCon 2019)–the mode said to be a “complete story experience.”
There are also Hero Missions, which are said to be “highly replayable co-op” scenarios that revolve around individual character progression by leveling up and customizing different abilities and talents. Kaplan compared it to Diablo’s Adventure Mode.
We’re not exactly sure how Blizzard is going to be delivering Overwatch 2. Is it a separate game we purchase? Is it some sort of paid thing that updates your current client? How much will it cost and is there a discount for current players? Kaplan said that the team is trying to redefine what it means to be a sequel, and it certainly seems like a new approach to creating a sequel, especially for Overwatch being a live-service game. We will update this article as we get more details.

Blizzard capped off its BlizzCon 2019 Opening Ceremony by unveiling Overwatch 2, a follow-up to its popular hero shooter. The game introduces new maps, heroes, modes, and other changes to the formula, but Blizzard assures that Overwatch 1 players won’t be left out of the fun.
Speaking during the Opening Ceremony, game director Jeff Kaplan confirmed that Overwatch 2 will feature a “shared multiplayer environment,” which means Overwatch 1 players will also get to play on all the same maps and use the same heroes as those playing Overwatch 2.
Moreover, Kaplan confirmed that all the cosmetics and progress you earned in the first Overwatch will carry over to the sequel. “We want to make sure that all Overwatch cosmetics come forward with you into Overwatch 2,” Kaplan said. “So all of your progress matters. Nothing is getting left behind, no one is getting left behind.”
Blizzard hasn’t revealed many details about Overwatch 2 yet, but one area where the game will differ from its predecessor is its greater emphasis on story. This time around, Overwatch 2 will feature cooperative PvE Story Missions, which have players “take an active role in the Overwatch saga as a new global crisis unfolds through a series of intense, high-stakes four-player missions.”
On top of that are Hero Missions, a “highly replayable mode” that Blizzard likens to Diablo III‘s Adventure mode. Here, players can take on co-op missions, which will let them level up their heroes and unlock new customization options for their abilities. Blizzard is also introducing a new “core” PvP mode called Push, as well as several new heroes to the game, the first of whom will be Sojourn.
There were a ton of other announcements during the BlizzCon 2019 Opening Ceremony, from the reveal of Diablo IV to a new World of Warcraft expansion. Be sure the check our full BlizzCon 2019 coverage below.

Capping off the Blizzcon 2019 opening ceremony, director Jeff Kaplan took the stage to reveal and detail Overwatch 2. It’s sort of a sequel that features a roster of changes and new cooperative PvE modes; it’ll also be playable with the original game’s player base in competitive PvP modes. And one of the major reveals includes the confirmation of a new playable hero who has been in the background for a while. Her name is Sojourn.
Kaplan stated that the team will not be talking about Sojourn in much detail during Blizzcon, but we do know a few things about her based on previous lore. She was a captain in the Overwatch organization who worked closely with the likes of Soldier 76, Tracer, Winston, and other. She also appears in Winston’s “Recall” animated short and Ana’s origin story. Sojourn has cybernetic enhancements, and while we know nothing of her abilities yet, her body augmentations are likely to play into her combat abilities.
You can catch up on all the announcements made at Blizzcon 2019, including more details on Overwatch 2 in our stories below:

During BlizzCon 2019, Blizzard announced Overwatch 2. The sequel to Blizzard’s popular hero-focused first-person shooter sees the return of familiar mechanics and characters, but also adds numerous changes to the Overwatch formula.
The Overwatch segment of BlizzCon began with a reminder of what has happened so far, with Winston recalling Overwatch to kick off the events of the first game. Clips from the various animation shorts released since launch were shown, focusing on the colorful cast of characters that fans have come to know and love.
Jeff Kaplan appeared on stage to express his feelings on leaks, before recounting the work that has gone into creating the series. He eventually stepped aside to show a new cinematic. Winston is seen holding a photo of the Overwatch team, having attempted to recall the team, while Mei sits nearby. “Do we have enough people for this mission,” she asks. Winston comforts her, saying they’ll be fine if they stick together. Tracer, captain of the ship, announces they’re approaching Paris, and arrive to see a Null Sector invasion happening.
Null Sector is an Omnic extremist terrorist group that operated primarily in the UK. Winston, Mei, and Tracer arrive to defend the people of Paris, who are a bit bemused that an ape is fighting robots. Mei lends a hand by freezing enemies, and Tracer also darts about. Suddenly, a giant Omnic appears and begins tearing through the city, igniting a massive explosion.
Mei is hurt and all seems lost. Without the Overwatch team’s backing, Winston decides to hold the line so Tracer and Mei can escape. He squares up against the giant Omnic mech, but then Genji appears, deflecting incoming fire. A truck appears and Reinhardt erupts out of it, with Brig by his side. Echo is shown flying around supporting them, as is Mercy.
Mei’s backpack is used to freeze the giant Omnic, with Genju using his blade to destroy it in mid-air and freeze the bot. The characters reunite, with some meeting for the first time. “Does this mean Overwatch is back?” someone asks. “Yes, we are,” Winston replies.
Gameplay was then shown. Overwatch 2 will have story missions, and players will battle the Omnic invasion across the world. Hero missions, highly-replayable co-op, RPG mechanics such as leveling up heroes and unlocking abilities have been included, as has ability customization.
“Play an active role in the next chapter of the Overwatch saga through a series of intense four-player missions. Fight back against Null Sector, uncover the motives behind the Omnic attacks, and confront a rising wave of new threats.
“The battle continues with Hero Missions. As escalating crises break out around the world, encounter an ever-changing array of scenarios with a range of diverse and dangerous enemies. Level up your favorite heroes and earn powerful customization options to help beat the odds.
“It’s up to you and your friends to stop Null Sector, the elite forces of Talon, and other enemies of Overwatch from carrying out their plans. Each enemy faction features a unique mix of units with their own strategies and strengths, challenging you to adapt your approach every time you play.”
A new PvP mode called “Push” and new maps were shown, as was a new look for the characters.
“In Push, a new, symmetrical map type that will launch with Overwatch 2, teams battle to take control of a robot that begins in a central location, then push it toward the enemy base. Either team may take control of the robot at any time. The team that pushes the robot furthest onto the enemy side wins the game.”
Kaplan emphasized that Overwatch 2 is still a 6v6 team-based competitive experience, like the original. Push is described as a “core competitive game mode, which means it’ll appear alongside the other modes in Quick Play, Competitive, and will be played in the Overwatch League.
New heroes were also teased, with Sojourn shown, but further details were not revealed. Kaplan said there will be “multiple” heroes that will come to the game. He also said that, “for us, sequels make us nervous, so what we’re hoping to do is redefine what a sequel means.”
Explaining further, Kaplan said original Overwatch players will get to play on all of the same maps as Overwatch 2 players, including new ones, and with all the same heroes as Overwatch 2 players. It is a shared multiplayer environment where “no one gets behind.” It seems those that don’t get the new game will still be able to play on the new multiplayer content, but not the PvE content.
“Current Overwatch players will battle side-by-side with Overwatch 2 players in PvP multiplayer; they’ll also be able to play Overwatch 2 heroes and maps.”
All unlocks such as skins, emotes, voice lines, and other cosmetics will also carry over. “Your accomplishments and loot collections will be carried forward to Overwatch 2. That means you’ll keep your skins, player icons, sprays, emotes, and more,” the official website says.
Overwatch 2 will run on a new engine, which means characters will have new looks. “Overwatch 2 evolves the look and feel of the world, with more dynamic environments, larger scale battles, additional in-game storytelling events, and improved atmospheric effects and shadows,” Blizzard says.
In June 2019, a report suggested Blizzard cancelled a Starcraft first-person shooter in order to focus on developing Diablo 4 (which has also been announced at BlizzCon 2019) and Overwatch 2. However, Blizzard has not confirmed whether that is true.
