Cyberpunk 2077’s Map Allegedly Revealed In New Art Book

It’s becoming more plausible that Cyberpunk 2077‘s map will be smaller than CD Projekt Red’s previous open-world RPG, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt–if a new art book is anything to go by.

The World of Cyberpunk 2077, a 192-page art book published by Dark Horse Books, is available now to pre-order on Amazon. The $100 Deluxe Edition, which comes with a bevy of stickers and a Johnny Silverhand poster, seemingly reveals a portion of Cyberpunk 2077’s map on its cover. The game’s map cuts off at the top, so it’s unclear if this is where the world in-game ends or if there is more to explore beyond this point.

No Caption Provided

CDPR has said that Cyberpunk 2077 will feature a “denser” map than The Witcher 3, telling Gamesradar that the upcoming open-world first-person shooter might be a little smaller than the studio’s previous games but is packed with much more content.

“If you look at pure surface, right–square kilometres–then Cyberpunk 2077 might be a little bit smaller than The Witcher 3,” said producer Richard Borzymowski. “But when it comes to the density of content, you basically take the world of The Witcher and squeeze it right in, deleting the wilderness between this.”

In other Cyberpunk 2077 news, CDPR has announced that the game will receive online multiplayer at some point after the game releases. While there’s no confirmation on when multiplayer will come to Cyberpunk 2077, the studio did state in an earnings report that some form of microtransactions in the works.

Cyberpunk 2077 lands on April 16, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It will also launch on Google Stadia at some point.

Halo: Reach Launches On Steam, Soars Up The Sales Charts

It’s a big day for the Halo franchise, as Microsoft has released Bungie’s Halo: Reach on PC through Steam and the Windows Store. It is the first Halo FPS to come to Steam, and the launch is going well.

Halo: Reach is available to buy individually for $10 USD, or you can spend $40 USD to buy the entire Master Chief Collection which will eventually feature Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 4.

The Master Chief Collection and Halo: Reach are sitting at No. 1 and No. 2 on the Steam best-seller charts for December 3. Additionally, The Master Chief Collection reached a peak concurrent player count of 139,089 on Steam today, which is No. 4 for the entire Steam platform. It’s only behind the free-to-play juggernauts PUBG, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike: GO.

Halo: Reach is doing well on Steam

These numbers do not represent or reflect the entire audience for Halo: Reach on PC, as the game is also available on the Windows Store. Check out GameSpot’s further coverage to learn more about where Reach is available on PC and how to buy it.

Halo: Reach on PC features the 11-mission campaign, multiplayer, and Firefight, as well as things like FOV sliders, variable frame rates, and custom key-binding. The Forge and Theatre modes will be added in 2020.

The game has also been added to The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One. You can buy the campaign and Firefight for $10, while the multiplayer is free. Xbox Game Pass subscribers, on Xbox One and PC, get everything for free.

2020’s Xbox Scarlett launch title Halo Infinite will also come to PC, but a Steam release has not been officially confirmed at this stage–though it seems likely.

Halo: Reach, which is a prequel to Combat Evolved, is the final Halo title developed by Bungie before it moved on to create the Destiny series. In Reach you play as a soldier in Noble Team, not Master Chief. The story is gripping and somber, ending in heartbreaking fashion.

FBI Files Search Warrant To Make Sony Give Up PSN Data For Alleged Drug Dealer

Sony has been prompted by the FBI to hand over information on a PlayStation 4 user that allegedly used the system’s online services to distribute thousands of dollars of cocaine, according to Vice.

The search warrant application, filed in October 2019 in Missouri, is ordering Sony to disclose any and all information for a man named Curtis “Dola” Alexander, including the games he played, his progress in those games, the physical address and telephone numbers associated with his account, and more.

The FBI alleges that Alexander, under the username “Speedola20,” was in contact with someone through the PlayStation Network to coordinate a $34,000 per kilogram sale of cocaine. The application reports that a Confidential Human Source (or CHS), who said Alexander contacted them “during game,” helped the FBI in the investigation.

The application later notes that a trap was set for the Bureau to surveil Alexander selling the CHS a bag of approximately 100 grams of white powder for $4,400. After the sale, Alexander told the CHS they would talk later in the game, though what game Alexander was using has not been named. Still, it has been confirmed that Alexander used PlayStation’s messaging service to get in contact with the CHS.

As aforementioned, the FBI is requesting all information on Curtis “Dola” Alexander from Sony. As well as what games he played and how far he’s gotten, the Bureau is seeking personal information about his account, such as name, physical address, telephone numbers, associated passwords, security questions and answers, and technical information such as the IP address used to register and log into the account.

Big Red Dead 2 Online Update Adding Bootlegging Business

Rockstar has detailed the next big update for Red Dead Redemption 2‘s multiplayer component, Red Dead Online, and it’s coming soon. The update arrives on December 13 and introduces a slew of new content to the online game, headlined by a new Frontier Pursuit, the Moonshiner.

The Moonshiner is a new Specialist Role that Traders can choose. As you’d expect, this role deals in the illicit activity of running your own bootlegging business. As a Moonshiner, you’ll gradually learn new techniques to perfect your moonshine, compete with rival bootleggers, and potentially even open your own speakeasy.

To embark down the Moonshiner path, you’ll first need to have completed a Trader sell mission or reached rank 5. Once you’ve met either criteria, you’ll be introduced to Maggie Fike, who Rockstar describes as “an experienced bootlegger with the scars to prove it.” You can begin your career as a Moonshiner by purchasing a Moonshining Shack, which will serve as your base of operations.

As usual, the Moonshiner pursuit comes with its own unique story missions, which can be completed either solo or cooperatively with another player. As you progress down the path, you’ll also learn new recipes and techniques and even have the chance to open a customizable bar. You can read more details about the upcoming Moonshiner role on Rockstar’s official blog.

The Moonshiner pursuit isn’t the only new content coming as part of Red Dead Online’s December 13 update. Rockstar hasn’t shared many more details yet on what the patch will entail, but the developer teases there will also be a new weapon–the Navy Revolver–as well as Outlaw Pass No. 2, new clothing options, and more.

Rainbow Six Siege Shifting Tides Update Is Live; Two New Operators Added

Rainbow Six Siege Year 4, Season 4: Operation Shifting Tides is officially live. Like previous seasons in Year 4, the Operation Shifting Tides update adds two new playable Operators. The new season makes adjustments to an old map and implements notable gameplay changes too.

The two new Operators–Jaimini Kalimohan “Kali” Shah and Ngũgĩ Muchoki “Wamai” Furaha–have already been introduced, but both have been fleshed out a little more in a brand-new trailer. In the trailer, which is embedded below, Kali is on the phone with (presumably) Team Rainbow.

Unlike the majority of Team Rainbow’s recruits, Kali and Wamai are private military contractors, so Kali isn’t willing to join the anti-terrorist group until she’s been paid. Her abrasive behavior eventually wins out, and she agrees to join Team Rainbow and bring her “best man” with her. While she haggles on the phone, Wamai is meditating underwater–showcasing how his abnormal physiology and history in the Navy allow him to hold his breath significantly longer than a normal human.

For now, Kali and Wamai have only released for Rainbow Six Siege Year 4 Season Pass owners. If you don’t have the pass, you’ll have to wait until December 10–and even then, it will still cost you Renown or R6 Credits to purchase them. Regardless of whether you have the pass of not, all players now have access to the reworked Theme Park map. The old map has been changed in several ways: the train in the center is gone, the east and west sections are now closer together, and the downstairs area has been remodeled.

Of all the gameplay changes that Operation Shifting Tides brings, the biggest is the addition of limb penetration. Bullets fired from certain weapons will now penetrate through arms and legs, allowing you to potentially damage multiple enemies in a single shot. The update also adds new Operator and weapon skins and lowers the price for purchasing Hibana, Echo, Dokkaebi, Vigil, Kaid, and Nomad.

Rainbow Six Siege is available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

PSA: Everything Leaving Destiny 2 In One Week

Bungie just gave us our first look at its next Destiny 2 content season, the Season of the Dawn, with a new trailer and some details about what’s coming. But the beginning of a new season means the end of the current one, and under Destiny 2’s new system, that means several activities and items that are currently available will disappear with the weekly reset on December 10.

On its website, Bungie released a fairly extensive list of everything that will no longer be a part of the game when the Season of the Undying comes to an end. Probably the biggest is the current seasonal activity, Vex Offensive, which retires from the game with the start of the Season of the Dawn. Along with it goes the Vex-specific weapons you can earn from the activity and the various Triumphs related to it, as well as the Undying seal and title they can unlock.

If you’re a Destiny 2 New Light player, you should also finish the Leviathan’s Breath Exotic quest. According to Bungie’s list, players on the free-to-play side will lose access to the quest at the end of the season, although that suggests that if you paid for the season pass (which was included with the Shadowkeep expansion), you’ll still be able to finish it. Check out the complete list below for everything that’s ending along with the Season of the Undying.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Season One Update, Patch Notes Released

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has released its first season of live content on PC, PS4, and Xbox One with its first Battle Pass, as well as patch notes that cover all the changes that came along with the new content. A Battle Pass trailer also shows off some of the loot you can earn by purchasing it.

The patch notes include several of the new additions that came with the season, along with some general fixes and balance tweaks. In particular the .357 Buckshot has been nerfed, with a reduction to both damage range and hip fire damage. Several of the changes are targeted toward improving the PC experience, with changes to both KBM controls and PC shaders. You can check out the full patch notes below.

This is the first Battle Pass for Modern Warfare, which Infinity Ward is using in lieu of map packs that split the player base. The battle pass has free tiers for items that impact gameplay like new guns, but several more paid tiers include cosmetic items to earn. The battle pass costs 1,000 CoD Points (roughly $10).

Aside from the Battle Pass content, the patch adds a number of new maps (Port, Atrium, Cargo, and Crash), and two more maps (Vacant and Shipment) are coming during the season. It also adds Infected, Reinforce, and Gunfight OSP modes, while removing Gun Game, Shoot House 24/7, and 2v2 Gunfight Tournament modes from the playlist.

Destiny 2’s Season Of The Dawn Gets A New Time Travel-Filled Trailer

Destiny 2‘s Season of the Undying ends in a week, which means its next batch of content, the Season of the Dawn, is nearly upon us. We’ve heard very little about what to expect from the new season–until now, that is. Bungie just dropped a new trailer that shows off what to expect with the next weekly reset, and finally gives some clarity to what the cryptic phrase “fix the timeline” means.

Bungie shared the trailer on Twitter, which shifts Destiny 2’s focus away from the moon, the major location of the Shadowkeep expansion and the Season of the Undying, to Mercury. According to the trailer, the events of the Season of the Undying have messed up the timeline, thanks to the meddling of the time-traveling enemy robots, the Vex. That’s left an opening for the Cabal to try to use time travel to change the events of the Red War, Destiny 2’s vanilla story campaign.

As the trailer shows, you’ll be interacting a lot with Osiris, a legendary exiled Guardian who was the focus of the Curse of Osiris expansion back in Destiny 2’s first year. Osiris has been hanging out on Mercury, fighting the Vex and preventing them from using their time travel powers to change the timeline. He now has a machine called the Sundial, which apparently is also related to time travel, and will be the focus of a new six-player activity. Though we didn’t get many details in the trailer, it looks like you’ll be defending against waves of enemies, not unlike the Vex Offensive activity from the Season of the Undying. The Sundial activity will be available to season pass holders but not free players, according to the Season of the Dawn rundown on Bungie’s website.

The story of the season also has a big lore hook: Saint-14. Another legendary Guardian, Saint-14 was the original Titan Vanguard leader, who held the role before the current Vanguard, Zavala. He famously took on the Vex and was killed, and over the years, we’ve gathered a few artifacts related to him that have told his story, like the Helm of Saint-14 Exotic helmet and the Perfect Paradox shotgun.

The legendary Guardian Saint-14 fell to the Vex, but it sounds like you’ll be saving him–with the help of time travel.Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3Gallery image 4Gallery image 5Gallery image 6

Not only are we defending the timeline against the Cabal, it also looks like we’ll be traveling through time and making some changes of our own. Chief among them: We’ll be trying to save Saint-14 once and for all.

What’s New In Season Of The Dawn

Free-to-play

  • Lantern of Osiris seasonal artifact
  • Symmetry Exotic scout rifle (seasonal reward)
  • Righteous armor set (seasonal reward)
  • New Obelisk activity in four different locations

Requires Season Pass

  • Time travel-focused story activity
  • Sundial, new six-player activity
  • Exotic quests
  • Seasonal armor sets
  • Seasonal ornaments
  • New Triumphs, Bounties, and Seasonal Lore Books
  • Exotic Emote, Ghost, Ornament, and Finisher
  • Additional seasonal rewards

The trailer also hints at a bunch of other new stuff in the season, including new Exotic weapon quests and the return of the Rusted Lands Crucible map from Destiny 1. From the sounds of things in the trailer, it’ll be the location of a new Elimination game mode.

There are a few additional details about the season on Bungie’s website as well, including this explanation of what sounds like the main story thrust of the season: “Help Osiris fix the timeline by restoring Obelisks on four destinations.”

Bungie’s rundown of the Season of the Dawn mentions helping Osiris fix the timeline by repairing obelisks located at four different locations. This image seems to show one on the Tangled Shore.

The Season of the Dawn rundown shows off the new season pass rewards, which includes Symmetry, a new Exotic scout rifle that season pass holders will unlock immediately at the start of the season, and free players will earn at rank 35. Bungie also showed off the new armor you’ll be earning throughout the season, and teased the next seasonal artifact, the Lantern of Osiris. If last season was any indication, it’ll likely unlock a bunch of season-specific mods, while also boosting your overall Power level above the hard Power cap of 960.

Bungie announced last week it’s planning a live stream with more information about the Season of the Dawn ahead of its launch. That’s set to take place at 10 AM PT on Wednesday, December 4, so stay tuned for more info about what to expect from the season later this week.

Detroit: Become Human Developer Ordered To Pay Up Over Vulgar Images

Quantic Dream, the French studio behind adventure games like Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain, has been ordered to pay more than $7000 to an ex-employee for the circulation of vulgar images, according to a report by French publication Le Monde (translated via Gamasutra).

Le Monde reports that Quantic Dream remained “passive” as vulgar images of an ex-employee “performing a salute Nazi” circulated around the studio. In the face of Quantic Dream knowing about and doing nothing to prevent these images from propagating, a French judge ordered the studio to pay a total of €7,000 (or approximately $7,753) for an infringement of the employee’s security.

“By remaining passive in the face of this more than questionable practice, which can not be justified by the ‘humorous’ spirit prevailing in society, the employer has committed a breach of the security obligation [vis-à-vis its employees],” said the judge in a translated statement.

Quantic Dream, who will pay €5,000 (~$5,538) directly to the ex-employee plus €2,000 (~$2,215) for legal fees, released a statement on Twitter saying it has no plans to appeal the decision.

This case is the latest against Quantic Dream, a studio that, according to reports from 2018, allegedly fosters a toxic work environment. The French judge who handed out the ruling called these images “homophobic, misogynistic, racist, or deeply vulgar” and condemned the studio for its inaction.
